I have 4 years of experience working as a student ambassador for the Cambridge Admissions Office. Through this role I have participated in several residential summer schools, assisting students with academic sessions in Psychology by ensuring that the students understood the material that was being covered in the lectures. I have also assisted during subject masterclasses in a variety of subjects, as well as giving presentations and providing advice on the university admission process. This has allowed me to remain up to date with the latest entrance requirements, as well as gain a first-hand look at the qualities that admission teams look for in a prospective student. I have also led sessions in my old school on writing a good personal statement and preparing for university interviews. In addition, I privately tutored friends in my spare time at university, both in Biology and Psychology, which allowed me to explore different ways of teaching and explaining complex ideas in easy-to-digest terms.

I have studied Psychology all the way from A-Level through to postgraduate level. I achieved the highest mark in my school for A-Level psychology (A*) , as well as achieving a First in my undergraduate degree at Cambridge. During my undergraduate degree, I was tasked with writing weekly essays for each of the 4 papers that I was doing each year. The regular feedback that I received allowed me to develop a strong set of essay writing skills which can easily be generalised to subjects outside of Psychology. I took a particular interest in cognitive psychology and perception and so decided to undertake a research-based masters in Psychology, also at the University of Cambridge. The topic for my dissertation was the unconscious processing of gaze. I developed a range of research skills including: designing an experiment, collecting data, analysing data using MATLAB and SPSS, and interpreting these results and their implications.

I believe my 6 years as both a Psychology student and researcher, have equipped me with the necessary skills to assist students in this subject in any way that I can, to help them achieve their goals.
