About Me
In addition to working as a tutor, I am a self employed actor/writer. I am passionate about learning, and enjoy nurturing curiosity, and helping my students look at the world in new and exciting ways. I believe in education as a means of fulfilment as well as its power to open up opportunities, and sharing this passion with my students is central to my tutoring. Additionally, I am a qualified mental health first aider, which gives me the skills to support my student's wellbeing through the inevitable stresses of exams and university applications.
Tutor Experience
I have been tutoring as my primary source of income for 2 years. During this time I have helped a student pass his resits for his foundation engineering degree, got students to a grade 9 in their physics GCSE and helped a student who struggles with maths get on track for a passing grade in their upcoming GCSE. My teaching has encompassed the GCSE, iGCSE, IB and A level standards for both maths and physics, and in all of these qualifications my students have exceeded their expectations. Additionally, I have taught GCSE drama classes, supporting them throughout the entirety of their qualification.
Topic Expertise
I have taught many specifications for both maths and Physics. I am particularly familiar with AQA GCSEs for Maths and Physics, Edexcel iGCSE Physics, AQA A level Physics and Maths, OCR (A and B) A level Physics and Maths, IB Physics and Maths. I am comfortable adapting to any specification necessary, given appropriate time to familiarise myself more fully with the requirements of the exam board/qualification.
