About Me

Hello! I'm delighted to introduce myself to you, and am really looking forward to working with you on the areas you are applying yourself to.

Inclusivity, accessibility, and personalised learning are hugely important to me.

I love to help people of all educational backgrounds to find joy in intentionally developing their use of language, both written and spoken, and to notice and analyse the choices of others.

Here's a glimpse into my background:

I began my journey by completing a First Class Degree in English Language and Linguistics.

After finishing at University, I embarked upon my teaching career with an Outstanding PGCE, which laid the foundation for my career as an outstanding practitioner. After thriving in my NQT year, I was chosen to participate in the prestigious OLEVI Outstanding Teacher Programme, and used this training to launch a coaching programme to improve teaching school-wide.

During my 6 years of experience as an English teacher I have supported incredible achievements by my students. On average, they have made remarkable progress of 1.9 grades across their Literature and Language GCSEs with AQA, with some students making 4 grades of progress.

I have since expanded my work through working as a qualified AQA examiner for the English Language GCSE. This, in combination with my 6 years of classroom experience, means I have gained valuable insights into the examination process, enabling me to guide my students effectively.

Since leaving teaching at secondary level, I have begun work as a Specific Study Skills tutor for University students with ASC and/or ADHD, and I have a qualified membership with ADSHE. This role allows me to support these students in mastering essential skills such as organization, essay planning, research techniques, critical thinking, and referencing at both Graduate and Post-Graduate levels.
