About Me
I trained to be a chemist at university due to my love of the subject leading to me obtaining my PhD. It was during my studies, however, that I realised the best way for me to convey my passion for the subject was through teaching. I was able to participate in running the undergraduate laboratory sessions during my PhD, a thoroughly rewarding experience! This led to my decision to enter the world of teaching, first at university level, then through training to be a secondary school teacher. Now, I help to nurture and develop understanding of complex scientific concepts across all three Science subjects and encourage students to become scientists in the future!
Tutor Experience
I am a qualified teacher who has completed the first year of their ECT program. During the initial stages of my teaching career, I have been responsible for the design and delivery of a challenging curriculum in line with relevant GCSE course content (most recently OCR) and A-level course content (OCR). I have also delivered "live lessons" over Microsoft Teams to students in isolation during the pandemic to facilitate their home learning and ensure they remain engaged and up-to-date with their Science studies.
Topic Expertise
My specialism is Chemistry, in which I can offer tuition for A-level students (especially but not limited to OCR specification) and International Baccalaureate students. I have teaching experience in secondary schools across all three Science subjects up to GCSE level in both AQA and OCR specifications.
