I'm an international IB educator who has taught in Latin American and Asia. I enjoy continually learning. Right now, I am working on an M. Ed. in educational leadership. I like reading and traveling and playing video games with my husband.
As an international teacher, I've taught in several IB schools around the world. I've taught DP and MYP English A: language and literature as well as DP and MYP English B. I've also taught Theory of Knowledge, coordinated the extended essay, and spent the past three years as a DP Coordinator.
In my classes, I push my students to be active critical thinkers and responsible consumers of information. I believe that the most important goal of education is not to teach specific knowledge but to help students learn the skills to acquire it themselves. I use regular assessment strategies to help both me and the students understand their knowledge or skill gaps to ensure lessons are always focused on the most needed strategies.
