About Me
Hello, I'm Ryan, an enthusiastic and passionate teacher of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment. I recognize the uniqueness of each student and tailor my approach to match individual learning styles. My goal extends beyond teaching the subject matter; I aim to instill confidence and a love for problem-solving.
Tutor Experience
With six years of experience, I have taken a wide range of students through their GCSEs and A-levels. These students all required a unique approach each time and I pride myself on teaching the individual. My own educational journey was not always an easy one and I completely empathise with students who struggle with particular scientific concepts. I was not a person who 'just got it'. I believe this is one of my main strengths in the classroom and whilst tutoring. I treat each student differently based on forming a strong student-teacher relationship. I am a gregarious person, and I will assess the parts we can work on to achieve the grades you deserve.
Topic Expertise
My expertise lies in Biology and Chemistry, as these are the closest to my original degree. This being said, I have taught all three Sciences in schools for many years. I am happy to teach all levels and abilities. I've taught both Edexcel/AQA/OCR and Pearson specifications for Combined, Triple, A-level and KS5 Applied Science. I am able to teach 11 - 18 yr olds and have 6 years of experience in tutoring and teaching in a secondary/sixth form setting.

Qualifications
I studied Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level. My undergraduate degree was in Biological sciences at University of the West of England. I graduated from UWE Bristol in 2017 and went on to undertake a PGCE qualification at the University of Bristol later that year. I qualified as a teacher from Bristol University in 2018 and started my career at Ridgeway School and Sixth Form in Swindon later that year.
