As a final year medical student, TEDx speaker, published author and tutor with extensive experience teaching across all I/GCSE boards for all three sciences and Maths, as well as A Level Biology and Medicine, I am passionate about approaching each student's goals and needs from a systematic but unique point of view. Through understanding the time we have to work together and the gaps in knowledge and/or issues in exam technique, we can achieve the goals set.

I'm currently in my last year of Medical School and will go on to become a Neurologist. This has led me to focus on the development of a formal teaching methodology which I will finalise once I graduate in March 2025. With extensive experience with a range of students my primary focus has been on the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and Maths. I've also been working with students to support them in preparing for their entrance exams (Medicine - UCAT, BMAT, IMAT; Business - GMAT; General - 11+, 13+) .
As someone who has published a number of books to support students applying to study medicine, I have made my primary focus outside of my medical studies to be on understanding the needs of each student, whilst at the same time applying the knowledge I gained over the last years to them as an individual. Whatever learning goal you have set out for yourself, I will support you with a personalised study plan and flexible availability that goes beyond the sessions we have together :)
1700h+ teaching hours across all boards of I/GCSE Sciences and Maths as well as A Level Biology and other subjects (listed) given across 1:1 and group teaching format
My focus is primarily on the sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths) across all boards (Edexcel, AQA, iGCSE, IB) for GCSE and A Level, however I also tutor a lot of students in an academic mentoring capacity where I advise on how to optimise their learning. Additionally I prepare students for the BMAT, UKCAT, IMAT, as well as 11+ and 13+ entrance exams.
Very helpful and I learnt a lot more than I thought I would in the time!

Sophia is helping me with A-level Chemistry and Biology. She structures the lessons well while simplifying harder topics by starting from a more basic level and building up. I often like to finish our lessons with practice questions which solidify my understanding. I look forward to and enjoy our lessons.

She always ensures that the lesson format will suit you and keep you engaged while being extremely friendly and motivating. Overall, I highly recommend Sophie as she always makes learning easy and interesting.

Sophia is a real 'find'. My son is someone who sometimes struggles to understand scientific concepts but he loves the way that Sophia teaches as it makes sense to him. Sophia quickly got to grips with his strengths and weaknesses and is helping him so much. Very grateful!
