About Me
I am an experienced tutor, educator and mentor who has been tutoring core and non core subjects for over 11 years. I have the necessary degree qualifications for this post, and wealth of knowledge with respect to the core curriculum. In my past and present teaching experience I have tutored at various established independent tutoring colleges and tutoring agencies. I have taught all Science related subjects including GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-level Biology and am familiar with all exam boards and Scheme of Work.
I have tutored Science, English and Maths for many years and am familiar with the scheme of work for all exam boards, and have worked through many of the exam papers past and present. I have also helped students with preparation, revision notes, going through each topic area and including the foundation and basics of each topic area.
In addition to this I am a fully qualified Optometrist and Audiologist where I studied a Masters in Audiology and clinical practice at the prestigious university UCL. I have also published a featured article on 'HIV and the eye' during my Graduate diploma in Optometry which was published in the nationwide Opticians magazine, and my statistical data from my Masters degree in Biomedical Science which has been used in Scientific computing world magazine.
I love all sports including tennis. table tennis and badminton and enjoy going to the gym.
Tutor Experience
In addition to this I have a PGCE teaching qualification with subject specialism in Science and Biology (11-18) non subject specific. I have full qualified teaching status (QTS) and have also been a class lead in a Special Educational Needs and Disability School helping all students with SEND and emotional, social and behavioural challenges. I have taught all subjects at Key stage three. I can do face to face tuition as well as online tuition and am well versed on all online platforms with digital whiteboard software.
In addition to my teaching experience I have worked for many prestigious agencies/colleges and have taught many students. When tutoring I am always well prepared with a number of resources and with ICT-based learning activities which helps students improve both their scientific and computing skills as each student learns differently. In every lesson I carry out I have an organised lesson plan, give homework with feedback, progress test, set a monthly report for the parents and always create a suitable learning environment for the student.
