**New to Spires**
In 2010 I retrained to be a teacher, specialising in secondary science. After my NQT post as a science teacher, where I also taught maths, I have worked as a lead teacher/head of physics, with particular responsibility for A level teaching. My line management experience has helped me to develop a coaching approach with my students, ensuring that they have both the motivation and the necessary skills to progress. My specialist areas in the subject are particle physics and practical physics. I also tutor students for A level, GCSE and 11+.

I have 13 years teaching and tuition experience in both the public and private sectors, since I graduated with a PGCE in secondary science in 2011. My specialism is Physics, especially A level (ages 16-18) and the practical aspects of the subject. I also teach Maths, Chemistry and Science and have prepared students for school and university entrance exams. I work collaboratively with students, taking a coaching approach, in order to improve their knowledge of key concepts, skills and study skills, including revision and effective exam technique.

We cannot thank Mark Nikitas enough for the commitment and hard work he put in to achieve my son passing GCSE Maths. My son has always struggled with Maths and got told by his teachers he would not pass. With being referred to mark, he really pushed my son and taught him everything he needed to know to make him pass. If anyone else is in the same boat with their child, I really recommend Mark.

My daughter lacked confidence in Maths and for the first year of GSCE was doing ok but I knew with some extra practice, guidance and patience she would be able to not just acheive more but feel more confident in her own ability. Mark really helped her by taking time to explain things that she was struggling to grasp or just hadn't had enough time in class with the teacher to fully practice and understand. Our tutoring was in person and my daughter was moved up sets in her maths fairly quickly. We also then added some science tutoring from Mark as we moved towards GCSE - an extra bonus. I highly recommend Mark - he has a patient and engaging manner and was just what we needed.
