Eleonora $40-50/hr

PhD - King's College London

I have more than four years experience in tutoring, both one to one and small groups.
I work at Kaplan International College where I teach Chemistry, maths and Statistics at Foundation level.
I have extensive experience in working with children, teenagers and adults.
I think that the role of a private tutor is to teach effectively a subject, develop self-confidence in the student and teach him/her to study in autonomy.

Eleonora's last completed Italian job with Ann: 1-2 hrs/week - I have a house in italy and picked up a very basic level of Italian speaking to locals. I would like to learn the language properly so that I can feel confident conversing while in italy

Eleonora's last review in Italian from Ann: Enjoyed the class. I am unable to sign up for Whiteboard so need to do that

Valentina $45-55/hr

Translation, Interpreting, Foreign Languages - University College London (UCL)

My love for foreign languages started when I was just a child. Therefore I decided to dedicate all my academic career to the study of languages. I attended a language high school where I studied English, French and German. I received full marks in each language included Italian.
After completing my high school, I started providing English and Italian tuition.
I completed my BA in Language Mediation specializing in English and German, where I also took exams such as Italian grammar and linguistics, Applied linguistics and the history of the Italian language.
After three years of studies, I got accepted at UCL with an unconditional offer and I pursued my Master of Arts in Translation and Linguistics.
I have been tutoring young students as well as adult learners and all my lessons are tailored in order to suit the student’s needs.

Valentina's last completed Italian job with Gillian : 1-2 hrs/week - Hello, my daughter Tatiana, is in her second year on Gcse's at Millfield School. She is struggling coming to grips with Italian which she only started in September 2017. Unfortunately she missed the first few weeks of lesson due to an international swimming competition and has never really understood the basics. We are therefore looking for tuition for go over the basics and then continued support up until her examination summer 2019. She has a very busy schedule as is also a competitive swimmer with a 19 hour weekly schedule so the best available time would be Saturday evening or anytime on a Sunday. I look forward to hearing from you. Best Regards. Gillian Tostevin

Jessica $45-55/hr

Modern Languages - University of Oxford

I've been teaching with Spires for over a year, and I've had several long- and short-term clients over this period. All my students have made highly encouraging progress and have given me very positive feedback.

Off Spires, I have a wide range of teaching experience, both paid and volunteering, in a variety of languages and to both adults and children. I am a CELTA-certified teacher of English to students of other languages, and have outstanding academic credentials (A* at A-level in English Literature and Distinction in both French and Italian in my Preliminary Examinations at Oxford).

I teach English, French and Italian literature and language, to both native English speakers and foreign learners. I encourage my students to be scrupulously accurate when it comes to the finer points of language and creative and imaginative when it comes to studying literature. I am happy to conduct lessons in English, French or Italian.

I have a detailed knowledge of the UCAS system, and of Oxford and Cambridge application procedures in particular. I'm happy to offer help with personal statements, interview practice and preparation for the MLAT or Cambridge MML admissions test and advice about written work to be submitted.

Flaminia $40-50/hr

PhD in International Relations - University of St. Andrews

I have been a tutor for over a year and I have considerable experience teaching students of all levels and I can easily adapt to the learning style of my tutees. My schedule is highly flexible, which allows me to make time for my tutees whenever they need me. I value my relationships with tutees highly, and I try to be a mentor and a friend to those who seek my support. I like to work with lesson plans and timelines, so that both I and my students can have a sense of directionality, where we were, where we are, and most importantly, where we are going!

Flaminia 's last completed Italian job with Ruth: Occasional - I am an adult learner who would like to learn Italian with a native Italian speaker either online or face to face. I want to practise my conversation skills and hopefully become fluent one day! I am an English teacher with two young children and pregnant with my third. I would love to be able to speak with someone who may have children themselves - maybe a working mum like me?
I have been to Italy a few times and I adore it. I am looking forward to being able to take my children there one day and being confident enough to speak Italian when I'm there.
