Tutor Experience

I am an enthusiastic and energetic tutor who is passionate about teaching Biological science and empowering students to excel within their own academic studies. I have been working as a professional tutor for over 4 years from GCSE to Postgraduate education. My overall philosophy of teaching is simple: I hope to make the students that I interact with somehow richer from their experience(s) with me.

I hold a Bachelors degree from Queen Margaret University in pharmacology, a MSc in Cancer Therapeutics from Barts and the London School of Medicine and I am currently finishing my PhD from Barts Cancer Institute. I have a vast experience of teaching (GCSE - A level), Lecturing ( UG -PG), and an Examiner for (AQA, OCR) exam boards. I currently Lecture for a higher education institution and consult for edtech companies as an academic advisor.

Without a shadow of doubt, the worst tutor I ever had! Kept cancelling the tuition before we even began. I wanted to learn Physiology because my university does lectures online this semester . The lectures are on my google drive and cannot be shared ahead of time. I mentioned I am happy to screen share it and sent him all the notes I had prepared. Apparently, he wants more detailed notes . If I have more detailed notes and am well versed in the topic, I wouldn’t need a tutor would I?

After several sessions, I am now starting to improve significantly with the BMAT section 1, now able to answer the questions a lot quicker and more confidently.

The second lesson with Ramsay was just as least as good as the first - if I was struggling with a question, he explained the surgical thought process that lead to the answer, and how to spot the key ideas if it was a confusing one.
