Blake $70-80/hr

Education - University of Ottawa

My approach to tutoring is get the student interested in the subject they are studying, as learning about something you're interested in makes all the content more accessible.
All the content taught in the lesson will be from your school's exam board. The lessons will be based on the content you need for your exams, as well as developing strategies and skills to answer exam questions.

I will be able to provide all material for the tutoring sessions.

Blake's last completed Double Science job with Abi: Intensive - gcse 2019. looking for online tutoring in sciences

Blake's last review in Double Science from Abi: All the lessons my daughter has had with Blake has been thoroughly enjoyed by her. Sciences have often been a challenge and now she actually says she understands the topics they have covered thus far. I think Blake should be commended on producing a new science convert.

George $30-40/hr

Science Communication - Imperial College, London

I have over 10 years experience working in schools and science centers. I have privately tutored students to GCSE level in the past with great success.

George's last completed Double Science job with Ben: 1-2 hrs/week - GCSE Combined Science - AQA curriculum for my son in Year 10. He is struggling a lot and did particularly badly in his mock GCSEs. I suspect a lot of the problems stem from a lack of learning in the classroom so he needs some additional, structured learning to cover everything in the curriculum that he should already know.

George's last review in Double Science from Ben: AQA Combined Science GCSE course - happy to take your lead on a starting topic but Remi has mentioned chemistry as a particular pain point at the moment. Great session - George explained the key concepts very well and at the right pace. Thanks!

Frank $45-55/hr

Chemistry - Queen University Belfast

I recently retired after 40 years teaching chemistry.

I was Head of Chemistry for 35 years and in Charge of Science for 22 years.

I won the 2016 Royal Society of Chemistry Education Award.

I have an extensive website and YouTube Channel to provide post lesson support.

For many years I was a home tutor of GCE Chemistry, using CCEA, AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL
Specifications. Over the last 2 years I have added the WJEC Specification.

Upon retirement  I took up a senior position with the CCEA examining team for GCE Chemistry.
As a result I am unable to tutor students for that specification.

Comfortable with teaching online using the Spires platform,
I have an enormous bank of teaching and assessment resources available at the click of a mouse.

Thanks for you interest.

Sorry, but I do not offer trial sessions.

Frank.

Frank's last completed Double Science job with Aisha: 1-2 hrs/week - Hi I am about to start year 11 and I would like to get a B for my sciences lowest C I am currently doing double science but my teacher says I have the capability of doing triple science so I still have a chance to move up in chemistry physics and biology. My GCSE exam board is aqa here are some of the topics I am learning in each subject so you can get an idea of what my school is teaching me and what you can help me on so in Biology we learn about:Cell biology
Organisation
Infection and response
Bioenergetics
Homeostasis and response
Inheritance, variation and evolution
Ecology
Key ideas
and in Chemistry we learn about:Atomic structure and the periodic table

Bonding, structure, and the properties of matter

Quantitative chemistry

Chemical changes

Energy changes

The rate and extent of chemical change

Organic chemistry

Chemical analysis

Chemistry of the atmosphere

Using resources
and in physics we learn about:Energy
Electricity
Particle model of matter
Atomic structure
Forces
Waves
Magnetism and electromagnetism
Space physics (physics only)
I got all this information from my school website I hope you will be able to help me as I really do want to get the best possible result I can get but I also know that science is not my strongest subject so I am hoping you will be able to help me , thanks. :)

I have tutored in person and online for over 10 years and receive great feedback with my students receiving mostly A*'s and A's. I believe that interacting and stimulation is the key to excellent tutoring.

Ahmed $55-65/hr

Medicine - Oxford

Over the past two years I have carried out over one hundred hours of tuition covering GCSE Science, A-level Science, BMAT, UCAT, personal statements, mock interviews (panel, MMI and Oxbridge) and supercurricular medicine. Through this I have developed effective teaching strategies and resources for the students. Many of my students have gone on to achieve Oxbridge offers and all have achieved at least one medical school offer. My philosophy is to work on the students weaker subjects and skills, and make sure they are fully prepared for all question types.

Ahmed's last completed Double Science job with Amber: 1-2 hrs/week - I struggle more with physics and chemistry however I am better at biology. There is no specific things in the subject that I struggle with I just need more of a understanding of the whole topics in general.

Benjamin $80-90/hr

Aerospace and Aerothermal Engineering - University of Cambridge

My tuition approach sees me go out of my way to tailor each session to the individual student's needs. Several hundred hours of tutoring experience from GCSE up to degree level in numerical and scientific subjects notwithstanding, my outstanding feedback speaks for itself.

I am patient, friendly, and with a highly technical background and experience, you can be assured I will stop at nothing to help you get the result you deserve.

David $95-105/hr

PhD (Materials Physics) - Imperial College

I am a highly experienced tutor of Science and Mathematics and about 70% of my tutoring is currently online. I tutor students from the ages of 14 years upwards, preparing them for their entrance exams and for their GCSE and A level exams, and University exams and resits. I also assist students with their UCAS and Post-Graduate applications and for university interviews and have recent experience of teaching students for exams such as GAMSAT. I have successfully helped several students prepare for school entrance exams. Recently I won a prize as the best new tutor at the Profs (2019), and last academic year my six A level Physics students achieved A*, A*, A*, A*, A* and A respectively.

My aim is to help my students to reach their full academic potential and get the grades they deserve. I believe in making sure that the underlying fundamental concepts are fully understood as this provides a solid foundation. There is nothing more rewarding than a student saying, "oh yes, now I get it". My tutoring style is to seek to identify the key areas where support is required and then patiently and sympathetically to help and encourage my tutees to master these areas. I have a post-graduate teaching degree and have taught in a number of Schools, Colleges and Universities.
