I have been tutoring online and 1-1 for 3 years now. I offer a range of styles in my teaching that allows the student to get involved with the lesson. This may include: labeling diagrams, creating a flow chart, completing a graph, correcting mistakes in a method e.t.c.
I have recently become an online tutor full time. This is giving me more time to make outstanding lessons for my 1-1 students. I can spend more time making sure that each student is getting the best education possible and be able to achieve grades they could not manage in a school environment.
Closer to exams, I show students how to answer exam questions. I am an examiner at AQA so I understand what the examiners are looking for and can help students with exam techniques.

Double Science job with Charlotte:
1-2 hrs/week - Hi
I am looking for a tutor one evening a week to help my daughter in year 10 secure a grade 5 in her combined science. It’s AQA syllabus. She particularly needs help with physics and chemistry. Ideally someone who has experience supporting less confident students to secure a ‘pass’. Thanks
I have tutored in person and online for over 10 years and receive great feedback with my students receiving mostly A*'s and A's. I believe that interacting and stimulation is the key to excellent tutoring.
I work mainly on perfecting exam techniques and how to answer the question for maximum marks. I have a lot of practice material and previous exam material.
I welcome inquiries from anyone who would like extra, on-going tuition, help with general revision or assignments, or preparation for exams.
I have experience with OCR, AQA and Edexcel syllabus.
Marie K's last completed GCSE Double Science job with Carl: Occasional - My daughter will be taking GCSE General Science in 2021 - it is not her strongest subject, and needs some help on a fortnightly basis
I have over 10 years experience working in schools and science centers. I have privately tutored students to GCSE level in the past with great success.
George's last completed GCSE Double Science job with Ben: 1-2 hrs/week - GCSE Combined Science - AQA curriculum for my son in Year 10. He is struggling a lot and did particularly badly in his mock GCSEs. I suspect a lot of the problems stem from a lack of learning in the classroom so he needs some additional, structured learning to cover everything in the curriculum that he should already know.
George's last review in GCSE Double Science from Ben: AQA Combined Science GCSE course - happy to take your lead on a starting topic but Remi has mentioned chemistry as a particular pain point at the moment. Great session - George explained the key concepts very well and at the right pace. Thanks!
I recently retired after 40 years teaching chemistry.
I was Head of Chemistry for 35 years and in Charge of Science for 22 years.
I won the 2016 Royal Society of Chemistry Education Award.
I have an extensive website and YouTube Channel to provide post lesson support.
For many years I was a home tutor of GCE Chemistry, using CCEA, AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL
Specifications. Over the last 2 years I have added the WJEC Specification.
Upon retirement I took up a senior position with the CCEA examining team for GCE Chemistry.
As a result I am unable to tutor students for that specification.
Comfortable with teaching online using the Spires platform,
I have an enormous bank of teaching and assessment resources available at the click of a mouse.
Thanks for you interest.
Sorry, but I do not offer trial sessions.

My students have ranged from key stage 3 to A-level, and have included a range of abilities, from those with learning difficulties to A* students who needed the extra challenge not provided to them in school. I find myself as a dedicated teacher who is able to motivate and encourage students to move forward in their studies. I have been tutoring students not only face to face but also through online platform for the last 15 years. There has been never a single child whom I couldn’t push further to score higher than their predicted grades. My teaching strategies are quite focused on individual requirements, as no two students are exactly same. Being an external examiner for years as well as having the teaching experience for more than 15 years has allowed me to apply specific exam techniques to help the students to understand the science concepts and how to crack the exam questions in various boards. I have worked in various countries and taught students from countries like India, Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai. Now, I am quite confident that with my experience and effective teaching strategies, I would be able to guide and help many more in UK as well.
