Hi, my name is Martina. I am an experienced Physics tutor and a fully qualified teacher with a master's degree from a Russell Group University. My master's degree final project was published in "Planetary Ring Systems" by C. D. Murray and M. S. Tiscareno, alongside the work of many prominent scientists.
In my career, I have been a teaching assistant, a teacher, a head of department, an online tutor and a content creator. I have now been working in the field of education for more than 10 years. I have experience teaching and tutoring AQA, Edexcel, OCR, IBDP, GCSE, International A Level and IGCSE.
Aside from teaching and tutoring, I love creating educational content. I was a book author for the Kognity teaching and learning platform and I wrote some Physics teacher notes for the popular Save My Exams website.

I love travelling, getting to know different cultures and trying new foods.
After studying and teaching in London for 5 years, I applied to become an international teacher. I worked in Riga (Latvia), Beijing (China) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)... the latter being by far my favourite, as I love the ocean.
I am a pilates practitioner and I work out every day.
I have two beautiful children.
I started my journey in the field of education as a teaching assistant at Harris Academy in London. I did my teacher training and NQT years there too. During my teacher training year, I also got my PGCE in Physics from Goldsmiths College. At Harris Academy Bermondsey, I taught GCSE and A Level Physics, as well as Key Stage 3 Science.
After completing my NQT year at the school, I moved to Latvia to teach at the International School of Riga. I worked there for 2 years, teaching Physics International A Level and IGCSE, as well as middle school Science.
I left Riga to move to China, where I was a teacher and a head of department at Harrow Beijing. I taught Physics International A Level and IGCSE, middle school Science and I was responsible for the design of the Physics curriculum. I left China during the Covid outbreak, and I moved to Brazil to teach at the British School Rio, were I was the head of the Physics Department. I taught International A Level and IGCSE Physics, and I was responsible for the design and implementation of the Physics curriculum. I was also part of the STEM committee.
Throughout my teaching career, I have also been a successful Physics tutor. After working in Rio de Janeiro for 2 years, I decided to dedicate myself to online tutoring exclusively. I am proud to say that all the students I have tutored so far have improved by at least one grade.
Physics - I know the AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Cambridge and IBDP Physics syllabi and exam styles inside out. My main focus when teaching is problem solving and exam practice, as that is what you need to master in order to get good grades in Physics. So forget about lengthy lectures about content that needs to be memorised! My tutoring is nothing like that. You will actively work on exam questions from your exam board. We will break them down together, and with time, even the most challenging ones will seem easy.
Good help with showing me the step by step process on how to respond to questions
At the British School Rio, where I was the Head of Physics Department, 14 students out of 18 passed their IGCSE exam with a grade A or A*. No one failed.
At the same school, in my IB Physics class of 6 students, 4 students got a 7. No one failed.
One of my current A Level students was failing to pass his Physics assessments and mock exams (with an average score of D). In just over 5 hours of online tutoring focused on exam questions covering a range of difficult topics, I managed to help him achieve a high C - he was just one mark off a B. We continue our tutoring journey together, looking forward to his further improvement.
