I have been an online tutor since September 2016 and am also a face to face tutor as well. I have taught many students and do specialise in A Level. I have also tutored students from many prestigious independent schools such as Marlborough College, Charter House, Godolphin School and Mount Kelly School and have enabled the students to achieve very high grades.

I have experience of tutoring international students and have taught students in Athens, Bahrain, California, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Kuwait.
I have been for several years an expert examiner for Edexcel for GCSE and A Level Geography. This has given me an inside knowledge as to what exam boards expect and look for in the answers of students.
I strive to get the best results as possible for my students and will always follow the exam board specification used by my students and this enables them to be as successful as possible.

I am currently a PhD candidate in Geography, at the University of Sheffield, researching into the role of partnerships in delivering environmental benefits in UK farming (submitted 1st November 2019, undergoing examination). Prior to this, I was a Masters student at the University of Sheffield, where I studied MSc Environmental Change and International Development, obtaining a merit. I completed my Undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, where I studied MA (Cantab) Geography, and obtained a 2.1.
I have experience of privately tutoring a variety of students from KS3 up to University Level and have prepared students for a number of different examinations, as well as having examiner experience at both GCSE and University level.
I have taught at both undergraduate level and masters level at the University of Sheffield, UK. As part of this role I have also undergone professional development and have achieved Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
I aim to provide a fresh approach to tutoring. This involves trying to bring the subject alive and always relating the subject matter to the real world, I believe that this makes content much easier to understand and more exciting.
For each session, I shall prepare a series of notes or exam practice questions, which I will supply to the student. I aim to relate all material covered to the exam, as ultimately exam technique will be key to success at these levels. Wherever possible, I will make sure the student understands the work covered through setting a series of tasks and then providing feedback , if required, as part of my session rate.
I aim to be easily available to be contacted by phone and e-mail if extra help or advice is ever needed. I am very flexible and will try to accommodate most student's needs.

Geography job with Dirk :
Over 2 hrs/week - My name is Dirk Cappetti and I am Dutch for nationality but living in boarding school in Geelong in Australia where I am in year 12 doing the IB exam this year in November.
I am struggling with my EE in Geography. The subject is within environmentalism: Involving flood perception and how mitigation strategies such as the delta works and Room for River strategy help with the perception of flood risk in the Netherlands (mainly along the regions where the Meuse and Rhine river are located).
I need help with structure, referencing, writing, basically with the whole EE.
My first admitted draft was incomplete and therefore wasn't able to get a full grade (full failure, plagiarism and incomplete).
As of the first draft, my EE supervisor has given me a better structure to write the EE. Firstly, looking at the idea of flood risk and flood perception at a scientific point of view. Then looking at the distribution of land use, GDP, population density, flood risk. Moving on, to the existing concept of flood perception in the Netherlands and analyzing the spatial association between fatality risk and population density. Then I will also explore the spatial element of perception. Lastly I will add an explanation of how climate change will affect floods in the Netherlands. I would like another opinion on the structure and even the topic for the EE, as my sister who has done the IB some time ago seems to disagree with the overall structure.
I have to submit a new draft within 9 days time so am quite in a hurry.
Can you please find someone asap to help me with the above.
With warm greetings,
My Mother and I (Dirk)

Geography job with Madeleine:
Occasional - Hi Yannis,
I have just finished my second year of studying geography at the university of Exeter. I am currently in the process of starting my dissertation. I have a general idea which lies in the field of geopolitics, specifically that of disinformation campaigns surrounding Russia and the Ukraine. However, I am struggling to tie my ideas together and make them pragmatic for an undergraduate project. I wish to start my textual research over the summer but need to refine my ideas first. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.
First and foremost, I am a Geography teacher and tutor in the North West. In addition, I have intensively tutored several pupils in Cambridge, in a range of qualifications from GCSE English to A2 Geography. I`ve also provided free tutoring to disadvantaged students in the County Durham area, and have further teaching experience with local schools and a language college in Cambridge, and with overseeing degree dissertations and university applications.
I believe that no one method is suitable for every student, and that getting to know who I`m teaching and working out the best way to pass on relevant knowledge are very important aspects of my work.
I`m also very keen on exam technique- knowing the stuff is only half the struggle. Working out how the paper works and highlighting mark schemes is also a crucial element of revision, and historically students have thanked me for taking the time to teach them to think `like the examiner would`.
I look forward to any enquiries.

I seek to break down and re-frame difficult content to build understanding and help students hit their grade targets by helping with key skills and techniques sought by examiners. I take a personal and flexible approach - willing to work with students in a way that best suits them, is enjoyable and build an interest in the subject!
I have been employed as a management consultant for 2 years, but still enjoy some tutoring on the side :)
