I have been for several years an expert examiner for Edexcel for GCSE and A Level Geography. This has given me an inside knowledge as to what exam boards expect and look for in the answers of students.

I am a recent Geography graduate from Cambridge University, Gonville and Caius College. I tutored throughout my time studying at Cambridge and intend to continue doing so as I love spreading my passion for the subject and helping others to achieve the grades they deserve! I also helped out at a teaching assistant whilst I studied for my A-levels at my local high school. I have experience with all specifications and as I achieved 100% in my Geography exams at A-level and GCSE, I can offer sound advice in terms of both exam technique and content! I have also helped undergrads with coursework and dissertations, as well as EPQ projects for A-level. My previous students have obtained A*s, with one going on to study Geography at Oxford and another achieving 100% and going on to study Medicine.

"I was extremely lucky to come across Brian. He is an incredible, all in one teacher. Every lesson is well prepared and extra resources are provided. He is up to date with all changes to syllabus and exam requirements. Brian is very friendly and patient, he always finds time to answer my questions even besides lessons time. He has lots of geographical knowledge and experience from all over the world. I am always looking forward to having a lesson with him, it is worth every penny"
I have had hundreds of pupils pass through my classroom and I have an excellent track record with both GCSE and A levels.
Online, I prepare tutoring sessions to the ability and needs of each of my students. I am available between tutoring sessions to answer questions or clarify some points for the lesson. I also set homework tasks and exam papers questions when it is needed.
I am available for a quick chat if you have any questions and would like to know how I can help.

I am currently a PhD candidate in Geography, at the University of Sheffield, researching into the role of partnerships in delivering environmental benefits in UK farming. Prior to this, I was a Masters student at the University of Sheffield, where I studied MSc Environmental Change and International Development, obtaining a merit. I completed my Undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, where I studied MA (Cantab) Geography, and obtained a 2.1.
I am presently a postgraduate fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS) and a student member of the British Ecological Society (BES). I am also the current chair for the Postgraduate Forum (PGF) at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS), where I help the RGS support postgraduate students nationally.
I have previously been a Geography Ambassador for the RGS and visited schools around the area giving talks on the relevance of the subject to society, giving topic relevant talks and trying to promote the study of the subject further.
I have experience of privately tutoring a variety of students from KS3 up to University Level and have prepared students for a number of different exam board examinations as well as having some examiner experience.
I am now also a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Sheffield. I have taught at both undergraduate level (as a workshop demonstrator, seminar tutor and examiner) to masters level (on an international development fieldclass). As part of this role I have also undergone Sheffield Teaching Assistant Training (studying different educational philosophies and practices) and have achieved Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
I aim to provide a fresh approach to tutoring. This involves trying to bring the subject alive and always relating the subject matter to the real world, I believe that this makes content much easier to understand and more exciting.
For each session, I shall prepare a series of notes, which may be accompanied with a powerpoint which I will supply to the student. I aim to relate all material covered to the exam, as ultimately exam technique will be key to success at these levels. Wherever possible, I will make sure the student understands the work covered through setting a series of tasks and then marking these and providing feedback , if required.
I aim to be easily available to be contacted by phone and e-mail if extra help or advice is ever needed. I am very flexible and will try to accommodate most student's needs.

Carlota's last completed Geography job with David: Occasional - I am looking to get an A in my geography gcse exam.
First and foremost, I am a Geography teacher and tutor in the North West. In addition, I have intensively tutored several pupils in Cambridge, in a range of qualifications from GCSE English to A2 Geography. I`ve also provided free tutoring to disadvantaged students in the County Durham area, and have further teaching experience with local schools and a language college in Cambridge, and with overseeing degree dissertations and university applications.
I believe that no one method is suitable for every student, and that getting to know who I`m teaching and working out the best way to pass on relevant knowledge are very important aspects of my work.
I`m also very keen on exam technique- knowing the stuff is only half the struggle. Working out how the paper works and highlighting mark schemes is also a crucial element of revision, and historically students have thanked me for taking the time to teach them to think `like the examiner would`.
I look forward to any enquiries.
Isaac's last completed Geography job with Nick: 1-2 hrs/week - I study at the University of Edinburgh and I am currently writing my geography dissertation. I have written it up but I am looking for a tutor to go over it with a different pair of eyes, who could comment on structure and check it it makes sense etc. My deadline is the 4th of April. It involves non-representational theory and phenomenology. It is effectively a sensory investigation of spectating non-league football, with a focus on on the atmosphere that exist there and the influence of the weather on how we perceive body-landscape relations. It is 12000 words long. Any help much appreciated.
Isaac's last review in Geography from Kally: GCSE - Session 2 amazing
During my PhD studies I taught a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses pertaining to the broad fields of Government and Politics, including among others, International Relations, Foreign Policy, Politics, Politics and Society in Central and Eastern Europe, Institutions and Policies of the European Union, Emerging Market Economies, European Security, Sociology, and Qualitative Methods. Based on the excellent feedback I have received from students, both inside and outside the university, and their request to help them with other modules I have also taught courses on History (e.g. History of the Soviet Union, Cold War, etc.) and Culture (e.g. Russian Cinema, European Literature, etc.) thus broadening my teaching area expertise.
Yannis's last completed
Geography job with Madeleine:
Occasional - Hi Yannis,
I have just finished my second year of studying geography at the university of Exeter. I am currently in the process of starting my dissertation. I have a general idea which lies in the field of geopolitics, specifically that of disinformation campaigns surrounding Russia and the Ukraine. However, I am struggling to tie my ideas together and make them pragmatic for an undergraduate project. I wish to start my textual research over the summer but need to refine my ideas first. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 years of experience tutoring primary and secondary students in English and Maths. I have also provided informal tutoring and Oxford admissions coaching more recently to A-level geography students. I seek to break down and re-frame difficult content to aid understanding, facilitate students to hit their grade targets by helping them understand the key skills and techniques sought by examiners, whilst also broadening knowledge bases and encouraging students to take an interest in their subject. I take a personal and flexible approach, willing to work with students in a way that best suits them and is (hopefully) enjoyable!
