Hello, my name is Miriam Pacheco, and I am an experienced tutor and a fully qualified science teacher, with a background in teaching at secondary schools in Nottingham. Currently, my focus is on delivering online tuition.
I find immense satisfaction in helping children grasp concepts they might have found challenging or previously thought were beyond their abilities – witnessing that “aha” moment when they suddenly understand is truly rewarding!
Ultimately, my goal is to inspire my students to love learning as much as I do!
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
Confucius, 450 BC
If you are interested in having tuition with me, I offer a free 15-20 minutes zoom call so, we can get to know each other and discuss a tuition plan.
I have experience in teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics up to GCSE level, as well as Biology and Chemistry for AS and A-level students. I am also confident in mathematics and have successfully taught this subject up to the GCSE level in an engaging and practical manner. I am well-acquainted with various exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, International Edexcel and International Cambridge.
My tutoring sessions are tailored specifically to the needs of each pupil, ensuring their progress and academic success. My teaching approach involves guiding students to answer questions independently by providing suggestions, rather than giving away the answers outright. I incorporate humour, imagination, and innovation into the learning environment to maintain engaging and effective lessons. With a strong track record of success, I excel in building positive relationships with students, who frequently express their enjoyment of our sessions.
Of utmost importance, I aim for my students to develop confidence in both answering and posing questions. I structure my sessions to target the curriculum areas where students feel less secure and to provide opportunities for practising exam techniques. I am familiar with the common misconceptions that students usually have, and I equip them with a set of tools and strategies to help them decode the questions and answer them correctly.
