This, combined with a passion for academic achievement, makes me an ideal tutor. I enjoy working with younger people and students and having had tuition while I was at school, feel eager about helping young people reach their full potential. I have experience teaching primary and secondary school children Maths, Science and Eng...

For over a decade I have coached pupils for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams – with success at Westminster, City of London, St Paul's and Highgate – as well as for GCSE, AS and A Level (in English and History, and with a record of prepping for University interview also). My teaching approach is fun but intellectually rigorous – focused on making sure students have the tools to achieve high grades but remain relaxed, engaged and excited by the subject. I am up to date with the current secondary curricu...

My student feedback (anonymous) was very positive: 'Charles always makes the subject interesting'; 'The seminars were always useful and enjoyable. I also felt confident to speak up during seminars knowing that my tutor was interested'; '...everything was always explained thoroughly'.

I have been a professional tutor since 2006.
Across all of the different subjects I teach, I always notice the same thing: the main difficulty that learners encounter is getting overwhelmed by what they're trying to learn. It could be that there seems to be simply too much material to cover; it could be that the concepts seem too difficult; it could be that the whole thing causes anxiety for some completely different reason which is apparently unrelated to the 'academic' side of things.
