I am a 36 year-old Lecturer of Politics and Philosophy. I teach courses in Modern Political Theory, Ideologies and Contemporary Political Philosophy. I also hold pastoral and academic support roles that include being the Director of Studies for first year students as well as the convener of the Politics Study Skills Seminar and the Politics Dissertation Seminar. In addition, I act as an external examiner for Colfe's - one of London's oldest independent schools - for their A-level Politics exams.

I believe that the most important virtue in a tutor is the ability to empathise with a student's cognitive position. When teaching I aim to guide a student through the mental steps needed to accomplish the goal of the lesson.
I typically spend much of a lesson in dialogue with the student. I break this up with exercises to embed and reinforce key points, but I always end the lesson with a call to reflection on what the student has learned. I emphasise that knowledge is open-ended and interconnected.
I have been tutoring Maths and Economics on the side of my studies for the past 7 years now. In addition to these subjects, I have a broad range of experience tutoring History - I got also national prize for my A-Level! I think that writing style is perhaps the most important thing you can develop during the GCSE/A-Level years, and I can help you make sure that you write in a clear, coherent and confident manner.
