I have been tutoring and teaching for over 14 years, and over half of that has been spent in the position of Head of Science or assistant principal. I believe that I am easy to be around and students feel comfortable when working with me and are confident that they can ask any question, no matter how silly they may perceive it to be. I always try to think of relevant and engaging ways to tackle a topic to enable all abilities to understand.
Having left teaching in September 2018 to spend more time with my baby daughter, I've set up my own business that designs lesson resources for other teachers. This not only means that I have access to hundreds of resources that I share during lessons to back up the learning but also means that I'm aware of the intricacies and key details of all of the specifications, including the International ones
Gareth's last completed Biology job with Molly: 1-2 hrs/week - I am hoping to go to university to study dental therapy and hygiene in the next couple of years and need to get a B in Biology to get in. My exams are June 2020 so I am keen to get started as soon as possible. I work full time but am willing to try as hard as I can to get as much work done as possible with guidance from a tutor. I am taking Biology with AQA and my past downfalls have been the specific wording required from the mark scheme and how to get the key words they need by making my answers more concise and detailed.

PGCE Biology, BSc Hons 2:1 Microbiology, 20 years' teaching experience including the last 7 years tutoring A-level Biology to around 350 tutees as individuals or groups. Excellent results with all tutees improving beyond their target grade. Many successful potential Medics, Vets, Dentists and Biology students have gained A* in Biology A-level and managed to secure a place at their first choice University following weekly tuition. On-line tuition only. I am a very approachable, friendly tutor with a wealth of knowledge regarding examination technique. I have the ability to simplify all theory ensuring the tutees build on their basic knowledge and then secure full understanding. I endeavour to ensure all theory is grounded before applying the knowledge to examination style questions. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

I have tutored in person and online for over 10 years and receive great feedback with my students receiving mostly A*'s and A's. I believe that interacting and stimulation is the key to excellent tutoring.
I work mainly on perfecting exam techniques and how to answer the question for maximum marks. I have a lot of practice material and previous exam material.
I welcome inquiries from anyone who would like extra, on-going tuition, help with general revision or assignments, or preparation for exams.
I have experience with OCR, AQA and Edexcel syllabus.

For the past ten years, I have provided private tuition to students of a variety of ages and abilities. This has ranged from primary Maths to A Level Biology. I have helped students to prepare for exams with a number of examboards including Edexcel, AQA, WJEC and OCR.
I have been working for the past seven years as a teacher in a private girls’ school teaching Biology to A Level, Chemistry to GCSE and some KS3 Maths. I have developed an expert knowledge of Edexcel IGCSE Biology, as well as Edexcel AS and A Level Biology A. I am extremely passionate about my job and get a real thrill from seeing my students make progress. Both times I have taught a top division at GCSE, they have all achieved top grades. The Biology department has excellent value-added at A Level.
Last year, I also worked as an Assessment Specialist, marking IGCSE papers for Cambridge Assessment. This gave me a real insight into what examiners are looking for and made me more aware of common mistakes that students make. This will help me to prepare students even more thoroughly for their exams.
Anna's last completed Biology job with Rickie: 1-2 hrs/week - I mainly struggle with homeostasis, but I need help overall for the course
I've tutored to A-level standard since I was a teenager and have worked part-time as tutor with Oxbridge Applications tutoring university entrance for the past 6 years.
As a PhD student I also have a real passion for biological sciences and building knowledge for the sake of learning which I aim to pass on to my students.
Between successful applications to and interviewing prospective candidates for undergraduate, postgraduate and fellowship roles I have a tonne of experience with how to build a personal statement and present on previous work/interests.

I have worked as a science tutor for the past year and loved every minute. I had the opportunity during my PhD to conduct a placement in Argentina as an English teacher and this is where I honed my teaching skills with all age ranges of students.
With enthusiasm, careful planning and knowledge you can improve a students results and enjoyment of the subject, Tutoring is such a rewarding business to be involved in and what makes me a good tutor is that I teach out of love for the subject.

Ramsay's last completed Biology job with Ben : 1-2 hrs/week - 1st year physiology exams
I did my professional teaching course last year but had to give up teaching after qualifying for a great PhD opportunity. My favourite part of teaching was spending time with small groups and helping them realise they could do things they thought they couldn't.
I predominately taught GCSE and A-level classes In all three of the sciences. I also had to teach quite a lot on maths within the Physics A-level as well as helping out in GCSE maths classes. I really enjoyed teaching the sciences to people who were struggling as it would give rise to the "OH I get it now!" moment that most teachers crave.
Before teaching I studied at the University of Nottingham where I gained my masters in Biochemistry and Genetics. During this course I was lucky enough to study a large variety of topics as well as take part in research projects at the university which gave rise to further works. I thoroughly enjoyed my degree as well as my research which is why I am now studying for my PhD.
Morgan's last completed Biology job with Cara: 1-2 hrs/week - I am struggling with the step up from GCSE to A level biology- I need to review all the first topics covered in the A level course. I am doing OCR biology.
My approach to tutoring is get the student interested in the subject they are studying, as learning about something you're interested in makes all the content more accessible.
All the content taught in the lesson will be from your school's exam board. The lessons will be based on the content you need for your exams, as well as developing strategies and skills to answer exam questions.
I will be able to provide all material for the tutoring sessions.
