Essay job with Ahmad:
Occasional - Hello,
I have an reflective task due today by midnight and its 3000 words, i have completed 1500 , however, i need a tutor to help me write more as i have the info needed. i just struggle express myself out properly, let me know if your available!!
I have tutored GCSE, A-level, Degree and Doctorate-level students on a range of subjects, although my main focus has been Psychology, Sociology, academic writing skills, Business Studies and Research Methods. I have written model essays for exam boards, proofread and edited work to be published, and worked on many dissertations and PhDs with university students.
For Psychology and Sociology, I adopt a systematic approach, and generally like to go over the material thoroughly, testing the student throughout, and spend time on previous exam papers and questions, planning essay answers, discussing how theories relate to real-life situations etc. I sometimes mind-map various themes and ideas with the student, and think outside the box as it were, to make sure that the ideas stem from the student's own work and thinking - so that they can remember it more fully and develop it in future (often students have more knowledge, ideas and insight than they realise, it just needs coaxing out of them!). I often tutor on coursework as well as examination preparation.
Amy's last completed Essay job with Karen: Occasional - I am studying a 1 year BA theatre conversion course. I have no previous study experience. I have four 2500 word essays to write. I would like some guidance on how to get started on my first assignment. My first 2 assignments are due on 7th January and the other 2 on 21st January.
I've worked successfully as a tutor for GCSE and A-Level students for a number of years now, helping them drastically improve their grades. I've also done considerable work as a university supervisor and mentor for undergraduate, master's, and first-year doctoral students at the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and other institutions. My approach is mainly trust based, my students are often amazed by just how much they can do for themselves if they're in a learning environment that isn't adversarial, oppressive, or plain dull. Beyond A-Level, I also have teaching experience at the University of Oxford as a tutor and seminar leader for undergraduate history and sociology students, and I have degrees in both Archaeology and History. My background of experience is technological, and I work as a civilian consultant to the NASA Ames Human Factors laboratory in that capacity. Central to my approach is an understanding that my students are people, with their own unique strengths, weaknesses, and abilities, which need to be nurtured and supported in order to get the best possible results.
In this way, learning can, and should be of a reciprocal exchange of ideas, and by embracing this in a more relaxed and curiosity-driven approach, it becomes far easier for many to explore, absorb, and abstract their understanding of both the surface learning of school qualifications, and the deep learning of the concepts behind them crucial to getting the very highest grades.
Toby's last completed Essay job with Marcos: Occasional - I am struggling with my personal statement and supplementary essays.
I've been tutoring for a very long time, which has given me experience working with all manner of students: at school I was a Higher Education mentor and I tutored reading and essay skills in a Paired Reading Challenge; whilst pursuing my BA, I was coordinator for GCSE English Revision sessions, responsible both for preparing GCSE English classes and training my fellow tutors. I was also the Core Skills lecturer at my university's Summer University programme, where I lectured on essential skills for Higher Education such as essay writing, academic research, and presentation skills. I spent the summer of 2015 teaching English to Italian schoolchildren, aged 11-13, at a fully immersive English summer camp in Veneto. I recently tutored a a pre-university student through her applications to an English Literature undergraduate degree, where I prepared her for transitioning from English as a subject in the French educational system to the demands and expectations of studying Literature at Bachelor's level.
In particular, I trust that what makes me a good tutor is that I am an enthusiastic communicator. I quickly develop effective relationships with my students, and I am very supportive of their academic endeavours. I believe that teachers always have a pastoral responsibility for their students. This means that my students are always eager to learn, as their apprehensions about the subject lessen and their confidence grows.

I have been an English teacher for twelve years and a Head of Department for the last four. My teaching has been rated as outstanding by Ofsted and SLT lesson observations are consistently good with outstanding features. I have led two departments which were rated outstanding as well. Whilst I am able to analyse pupil progress and create effective intervention strategies, I am also an effective classroom practitioner who understands that quality teaching is at the heart of education.
I have a an excellent understanding of how to break complex ideas into manageable chunks and how to explain them in an accessible way, showing students clearly the next steps they need to take to improve. My lessons are engaging and challenging but support learners of all abilities to reach their potential.
As I am an older teacher and a mother of a number of children and stepchildren, I have good interpersonal skills in particular with teenagers. I believe that the most crucial part of teaching is establishing a mutually respectful relationship with an understanding that you are working towards a common goal: success for the student.
