I have school and tutoring experience in both Criminology, Law and English. Specifically KS3 and KS4 English, KS5 Criminology and Law, Undergraduate Criminology and Law, and SEN support from ages 11 - 19. I offer support to pupils at all levels who are looking to develop academically, and tailor lessons accordingly.

After graduating with a BA Hons degree in Criminology, I embarked on a career in the Criminal Justice System. I worked for several years in Isleworth Crown Court as a Crown Court Clerk, before moving to His Majesty's Prison Service where I was employed as a Prison Officer. These experiences led me to become a teacher, where I am now able to support people on an academic and personal level earlier on in life, and hopefully make a difference.
I qualified as a Teacher through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme and have experience teaching basic English and Maths to pupils up to age 19 at West Lea Special Needs School in North London.
Having qualified in English, I went on to teach KS3 English and GCSE English at Stewards Academy in Harlow. During the lockdown, I taught lessons via the Teams platform for larger classes, as well as tutoring for smaller groups who had additional learning needs.
I went on to teach Criminology at The Urswick School in Hackney to KS5 pupils. During the first year that the school introduced the subject, I had responsibility for planning and developing the lesson content and Unit assessments. For pupils who required additional support, I had one on one tutoring sessions, focusing on particular areas for development to build their knowledge and confidence ahead of the assessments. I now tutor Criminology for both A-Level and Undergraduate students.
Most recently I have been teaching the WJEC Criminology Diploma qualification and OCR Law at Biddenham International School to Sixth Form students.
I have also worked within the Crown Court and His Majestys Prison Service, which has given me a deeper understanding of life beyond education, affording me great empathy and compassion.

Great lesson
Lesson with Megan was great very kind and supportive and a great way off explaining and teaching
Megan is a great tutor, she is friendly and very nice, she gave me constructive criticism and was able to guide me in the correct direction of what I already included in my dissertation and even encouraged me to include more relevant information and helped me stay within my word count
megan's advice and comments really helped me
