I tutored many students during my PhD, from school leavers wanting lab experience to tutoring fellow PhD candidates in sterile tissue culture techniques. The longest tutoring project I have undertaken was supervising a third year medical student for his intercalated BSc in Physiology. He won the prize for top project in his year (mainly due to his hard work and dedication) and was a joy to teach and really fuelled my interest in nurturing younger minds. More recently I tutored a young man who w...

I began tutoring students to fund my PhD in English Literature, and I taught a range of syllabuses (OCR, AQA, CCEA, EDEXCEL) and levels (KS2, KS3, GCSE, A-Level and degree). In 2011, I became a Learning Mentor at a top grammar school in Birmingham - King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls - where I helped GCSE students with revision and study techniques, and supported those who had problems revising.
Fuelled by my love of tutoring, I trained to become a teacher, graduating from the King Edwa...

Within this context, I've taught academic writing, and I've helped dozens of students, both undergraduate and post-graduate, design, research, and write dissertations and other substantial pieces of research. As someone who has lectured at the University level, I've not ...
