About me

I was born in Mt Isa in the desert of Australia but grew up in Perth, Western Australia. I have an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Politics and wrote my honor’s thesis about the child soldiers of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda. I have a Masters degree in International Development and a PhD in Anthropology about the child combatants of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) in Colombia. I have travelled through many parts of the world including the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, North America, Asia, the Pacific Islands and Europe. I have a passion for women’s rights and founded the organization Project Monma which advocates for women’s rights around the world.

Tutor Experience

I have extensive teaching tutoring and teaching experience and have spent several years teaching in an online capacity.

Topic Expertise

As an anthropologist I specialize in the areas of human rights with a specific focus on women's rights and children and war. I also have extensive knowledge around international development issues, politics and of course anthropology and anthropological theories!

I am also highly skilled in academic writing and have published more than 50 articles as well as a book. It is a challenging task for any writer to present a good academic paper that is clear and effective. I can help teach you how to think accurately and clearly convey complex ideas in a well-structured manner.

Other areas I can assist with include improving areas of your writing and essay structure such as, choosing your topic, the structure of your academic writing, critical analysis, making your arguments, word choice and research methods. I also have extensive experience in coding and qualitative research methods.

In addition, I have travelled to more than 140 countries and have worked in a number of those giving me an understanding of the social, cultural and political dynamics taking place in those country's.
