I am an experienced educator, with a specialism in Geography and Environmental Science. I have taught GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB and been an examiner on the IB Geography programme. I also have a Psychology degree, am a qualified Strength&Conditioning coach and speak French fluently so can help with these subjects too.
I'm a young history teacher and have a wide and slightly obsessive interest in a whole range of different topics. During my career I have covered everything from Ancient Rome to Communist China. I have worked at several different secondary schools, teaching years 7 to 13 with a range of different abilities. I have also been a head of year meaning I've focused on students' progress over time and developing strategies to produce better learning. I would describe my teaching style as relaxed and fun. (I haven't had too many complaints!) I pride myself on breaking down tasks and producing quality feedback. I have experience of teach students who don't speak English and students with special educational needs. My experience has also taken me into varied types of marking and assessment. I have marked consistently at GCSE and Sixth Form/College level.
