Since 2015, I have been tutoring both A-Level and (I)GCSE students across multiple boards of examination. I have helped many individuals achieve their academic goals, with students showing improvements by up to 3 symbols. I began this initiative after achieving my Cambridge International Examination (CIE) A-Levels in mathematics, chemistry and physics with an A and 2 A* grades respectively, averaging 90% overall. I aspire, through tutoring, to help all of my students find enjoyment and inspiration within the fields of science and mathematics.
Robin's last completed Secondary Chemistry job with Anjum: 1-2 hrs/week - I need my daughter to be pushed a little more than what she is currently at school
Robin's last review in Secondary Chemistry from Charles: Maths revision brilliant did an edexcel physics specimen paper.
I have been tutoring and teaching for over 15 years, and over half of that has been spent in the position of Head of Science or assistant principal. I believe that I am easy to be around and students feel comfortable when working with me and are confident that they can ask any question, no matter how silly they may perceive it to be. I always try to think of relevant and engaging ways to tackle a topic to enable all abilities to understand.
Having left teaching in September 2018 to spend more time with my baby daughter, I've set up my own business that designs lesson resources for other teachers. This not only means that I have access to hundreds of resources that I share during lessons to back up the learning but also means that I'm aware of the intricacies and key details of all of the specifications, including the International ones
Gareth's last completed Secondary Chemistry job with sarah: 1-2 hrs/week - I am looking to get a 7/8 in my gcse this summer
Gareth's last review in Secondary Chemistry from sarah: TBD Gareth went through my topics at both an A level biology and chemistry standard and gave me very useful exams questions at the end.
Amongst other students and balancing degree work, I have recently home-schooled a student through her GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics exams. I taught the courses over 1 year instead of 2, and taking her from a predicted B in double award to A/B/B in separate sciences. Most tutoring was over Skype, so I'm familiar with how to keep attention over video and check students understanding without being in the room. I've been working with Spires for almost a year now and I'm really enjoying the platform.

Florence's last review in Secondary Chemistry from Seb: maths Great lesson learnt loads
I recently retired after 40 years teaching chemistry.
I was Head of Chemistry for 35 years and in Charge of Science for 22 years.
I won the 2016 Royal Society of Chemistry Education Award.
I have an extensive website and YouTube Channel to provide post lesson support.
For many years I was a home tutor of GCE Chemistry, using CCEA, AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL
Specifications. Over the last 2 years I have added the WJEC Specification.
Upon retirement I took up a senior position with the CCEA examining team for GCE Chemistry.
As a result I am unable to tutor students for that specification.
Comfortable with teaching online using the Spires platform,
I have an enormous bank of teaching and assessment resources available at the click of a mouse.
Thanks for you interest.
Sorry, but I do not offer trial sessions.

Lizzie's last completed Secondary Chemistry job with Nor Azah: 1-2_HOURS - To prepare for exams
I did my professional teaching course last year but had to give up teaching after qualifying for a great PhD opportunity. My favourite part of teaching was spending time with small groups and helping them realise they could do things they thought they couldn't.
I predominately taught GCSE and A-level classes In all three of the sciences. I also had to teach quite a lot on maths within the Physics A-level as well as helping out in GCSE maths classes. I really enjoyed teaching the sciences to people who were struggling as it would give rise to the "OH I get it now!" moment that most teachers crave.
Before teaching I studied at the University of Nottingham where I gained my masters in Biochemistry and Genetics. During this course I was lucky enough to study a large variety of topics as well as take part in research projects at the university which gave rise to further works. I thoroughly enjoyed my degree as well as my research which is why I am now studying for my PhD.
Morgan's last completed Secondary Chemistry job with sarah: Over 2 hrs/week - I am looking to get an A* in my chemistry. I got a B in my mock, and so I need to do some work to turn that around. Ideally, I would like someone who is currently teaching GCSE chemistry, who could help me quickly diagnose where the weaknesses are and focus the coaching around those. I am not intending to study chemistry to A level. The exam board is Edexcel.
Morgan's last review in Secondary Chemistry from debasish: Free meeting There was no class , Tutor didn't turn up.
I have over 4 years of experience in tutoring the sciences across a range of exam boards and levels, and am focused on ensuring each of my students understands how they will best reach their goals.
I am passionate about the subjects that I tutor, and am able to deliver them in innovative and engaging ways. My aim is to build up the confidence of my students in any given subject, and to help each individual to realise their potential.

I can tutor many Electronic and Electrical engineering modules, e..g. Mathematics, signal processing, communication engineering, antennas, propagation, electronics, circuit analysis etc. Of course, depending on the student's specific need, I can assess how and whether I can help.
I have good experience in teaching mathematics and science (physics, chemistry and biology) in secondary schools. I am especially skilled in mathematics and physics. I helped in teaching mathematics in undergraduate engineering. For more than three years, I have been privately tutoring A-level maths and physics students as well as tutoring at KS2, KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, undergraduate and postgraduate. I am also able to support SEN students.
I have more than 3000 hours of tutoring experience and I am quite familiar with the different curriculums and exam boards specifications.
I have been a private tutor for over 6 years and hold Qualified Teacher Status with experience teaching in schools in Suffolk and Devon. I was graded 'Outstanding' for my Teacher Training and also have experience working in industrial and research laboratories.
I am experienced in tutoring and teaching GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics tuition and A level Biology and Chemistry. I really like to break-down the difficult topics and train you how to give examiners what they want in your answers. I have worked with a wide range of students of all ages and abilities and the wonderful thing about tutoring is I can adapt it exactly to your specific needs. Having also worked as an exam assessor I know exactly the standard and requirements required to gain the marks!
I LOVE my subject and love discussion in order to further understanding. I think part of my success as a teacher is my enthusiasm and need to have fun. I try to remind my students exactly how exciting science actually is outside of textbooks.
Louisa's last completed Secondary Chemistry job with Eden: Over 2 hrs/week - I would like to be an anaesthetist when I am older. this requires a good understanding in chemistry which I am currently struggling with.
I have been tutoring online and 1-1 for 3 years now. I offer a range of styles in my teaching that allows the student to get involved with the lesson. This may include: labeling diagrams, creating a flow chart, completing a graph, correcting mistakes in a method e.t.c.
I have recently become an online tutor full time. This is giving me more time to make outstanding lessons for my 1-1 students. I can spend more time making sure that each student is getting the best education possible and be able to achieve grades they could not manage in a school environment.
Closer to exams, I show students how to answer exam questions. I am an examiner at AQA so I understand what the examiners are looking for and can help students with exam techniques.
