The subjects that I primarily tutor are Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. My 4 years of tutoring experience has found me tutoring students from year 8 to year 11 and providing valuable SAT preparation lessons.
I am fully aware of the GCSE/pre-GSCE subject matter and requirements. I have tutored numerous international students and their improvements stand testament to my ability to tutor various syllabuses. In addition, the 2 years of calculus, 2 years of chemistry and 1 year of physics that I completed at university, has adequately prepared me for all content appearing in different syllabuses.
Most of my client base is a result of referrals from other students, due to their improvements and belief within my tutoring capabilities. My tutoring ethos is built around a core of patience, passion and pride within my student's success. My experience has taught me valuable techniques for explaining difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner. I always recommend practicing the covered content after the lesson, and provide my own problems/questions if there aren't any available. I also provide lessons for overall test/exam preparation where I provide useful time saving tips among other things.
Grant's last completed GCSE Physics job with Simon : 1-2 hrs/week - Looking to get an 8/9 in June
My approach to tutoring is get the student interested in the subject they are studying, as learning about something you're interested in makes all the content more accessible.
All the content taught in the lesson will be from your school's exam board. The lessons will be based on the content you need for your exams, as well as developing strategies and skills to answer exam questions.
I will be able to provide all material for the tutoring sessions.
Blake's last completed GCSE Physics job with Adam: 1-2 hrs/week - I am having a difficult time grasping a lot of concepts in physics and i hope to be able to pass my gcse comfortably. This is because i would like to study biology at A-level and think a good grade in another science would be helpful. My Gcse's are in summer 2019. I would like to start tutoring preferably in the next couple of weeks-before school restarts. I feel confident in only a small number of topics - the ones I struggle with most are, Energy equations, units of electricity and specific latent heat . My syllabus is AQA. I would like to start with 1 tutoring period a week but potentially increase it depending on my progress.
I have tutored A-level, Undergraduate and Masters Physics and Maths for three years for pupils aiming for levels from C-A* (and 1st Class Honours), as well as Oxbridge entrance exams and interview practice.
Academically, I graduated top in my year from Cambridge with a Masters' in Astrophysics, and am now undergoing a one-year research placement at Harvard, before starting a PhD in Princeton.
Oliver's last completed GCSE Physics job with Samiya Noordeen: 1-2_HOURS - My son wants to study GCSE Astronomy. They are not taking this GCSE at school. He would therefore need to be taught the complete course.
During my undergraduate degree, I tutored students in lower years and ran a series of departmental seminars to encourage learning "beyond the textbook." I think it's important to help students make links not just between the subjects they study, but to real-world applications - a component sometimes missing in the high-pressure, rapid-paced school environment. Most crucially, I remember how stressful preparation for GCSEs and A-levels can be- and the tips and tricks students can employ to not only do well in the exam, but to really understand the material.
I am confident working with students of all abilities, particularly those who are motivated but lack confidence in their ability to tackle mathematics and the physical sciences. I am also interested in tutoring students who could benefit from a little extra support with their studies, as well as those who are seeking to be challenged beyond the school curriculum.
Alex's last completed GCSE Physics job with Frederique: 1-2_HOURS - My son Willem, Y9, needs some help on that subject to get a little higher grades. The idea would be for him to commit 1 hour per week and it can happen on Sundays between 2 & 4pm (we need to leave at 4pm), Fridays between 5pm & 6:30pm, Thursdays at 5:30pm. I may be able to offer more availabilities but I need to check with him.

Kishan's last completed GCSE Physics job with Pranay: 1-2 hrs/week - I would like a tutor who can help me do even better in gcse physics, I am currently working at around a level 7 which I would like to boost to a 9 if possible.
I estimate I have at least 6000 hours of experience, having been a tutor since 2011. I initially started teaching Maths and Physics to Engineering students at University and I gradually expanded into secondary school level tuition. I have worked full time as a tutor since 2012 and during that time I have taught Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering.
I have taught A Levels, IGCSE/GCSE, IB, Pre-U, AP and I have covered nearly every exam board including Edexcel, OCR, AQA, WJEC. All of my students are seeking to get into top Univeristies.
What makes me a good tutor is my ability to break down a subject and cover it in a particular order so that a student who might not have a good understanding can understand how to progress through the topics. It doesn't hurt that I have a sense of humour and make my lessons actually fun and enjoyable.

Physics job with Huda :
1-2 hrs/week - I would like to start asap, my exams are in 15 weeks and I am really struggling with physics.
I am doing the edexcel separate science higher 9-1.
Shahid's last review in GCSE Physics from Kasia: I have an extra time as a student has taken an earlier class, 4:30pm UK time is fine Great!
I did my professional teaching course last year but had to give up teaching after qualifying for a great PhD opportunity. My favourite part of teaching was spending time with small groups and helping them realise they could do things they thought they couldn't.
I predominately taught GCSE and A-level classes In all three of the sciences. I also had to teach quite a lot on maths within the Physics A-level as well as helping out in GCSE maths classes. I really enjoyed teaching the sciences to people who were struggling as it would give rise to the "OH I get it now!" moment that most teachers crave.
Before teaching I studied at the University of Nottingham where I gained my masters in Biochemistry and Genetics. During this course I was lucky enough to study a large variety of topics as well as take part in research projects at the university which gave rise to further works. I thoroughly enjoyed my degree as well as my research which is why I am now studying for my PhD.

Physics job with TY :
1-2 hrs/week - Firstly I have ADHD, things have to be broken down into it's simplest form for me to understand. and also the lessons need to be fun. Unfortunately at school we have had different supply teachers and the lesson have been confusing and boring.

I am a volunteer for a number of organisations which aim to help disadvantaged students reach university and have tutored a number of students to success in their exams so I have a lot of experience of working with young people and helping them to reach their potential. I am happy to help as a subject specific tutor for GCSE or A-Level, or help students through the sometimes daunting university application process and admissions tests.
About my tutorials:
Sessions are always student-led. I plan tutorials which reflect the student's level of understanding, giving access to notes, including suggested exam questions, which the student can add to during the tutorial, or use as a memory-aid following the tutorial.
I have received lots of positive feedback about this approach.
I can also help students through questions or tasks which they bring, and the best tutorials involve this collaborative input.
The pace of sessions is determined by the student, and I am happy to go through any topic with a number of different approaches until we find one which the student finds helpful.
