Amy $60-70/hr

BA/MA English, Drama and Education - University of Cambridge

I have tutored GCSE, A-level, Degree and Doctorate-level students on a range of subjects, although my main focus has been Psychology, Sociology, academic writing skills, Business Studies and Research Methods. I have written model essays for exam boards, proofread and edited work to be published, and worked on many dissertations and PhDs with university students.

For Psychology and Sociology, I adopt a systematic approach, and generally like to go over the material thoroughly, testing the student throughout, and spend time on previous exam papers and questions, planning essay answers, discussing how theories relate to real-life situations etc. I sometimes mind-map various themes and ideas with the student, and think outside the box as it were, to make sure that the ideas stem from the student's own work and thinking - so that they can remember it more fully and develop it in future (often students have more knowledge, ideas and insight than they realise, it just needs coaxing out of them!). I often tutor on coursework as well as examination preparation.

Amy's last completed Dissertations job with Ratna: Occasional - Hi,

I'm Ratna. I have a qualitative dissertation due on the 1st April, however have a two weeks extension. I am doing discourse analysis on the perception of mental health and therapy in the Asian community. I am struggling with my dissertation as I am unsure if I am on the right track, I would love a 1st class in my dissertation. However my supervisor has now refused to support me through my dissertation now, so I am on my own. I hope you can help me.

Many thanks,

Amy's last review in Dissertations from Bobby: Amy is a phenomenal tutor she has helped me so much during with my final year of University. Tobias $50-60/hr

History of Technology - University of Oxford

I've worked successfully as a tutor for GCSE and A-Level students for a number of years now, helping them drastically improve their grades. I've also done considerable work as a university supervisor and mentor for undergraduate, master's, and first-year doctoral students at the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and other institutions. My approach is mainly trust based, my students are often amazed by just how much they can do for themselves if they're in a learning environment that isn't adversarial, oppressive, or plain dull. Beyond A-Level, I also have teaching experience at the University of Oxford as a tutor and seminar leader for undergraduate history and sociology students, and I have degrees in both Archaeology and History. My background of experience is technological, and I work as a civilian consultant to the NASA Ames Human Factors laboratory in that capacity. Central to my approach is an understanding that my students are people, with their own unique strengths, weaknesses, and abilities, which need to be nurtured and supported in order to get the best possible results.

In this way, learning can, and should be of a reciprocal exchange of ideas, and by embracing this in a more relaxed and curiosity-driven approach, it becomes far easier for many to explore, absorb, and abstract their understanding of both the surface learning of school qualifications, and the deep learning of the concepts behind them crucial to getting the very highest grades.

Tammy-Jade $40-50/hr

BSc, MSc & PgCE - University of Hull

I currently tutor numerous regular students in multiple different subjects - law, psychology & sociology.I taught sociology and psychology in a college for one year.

I am teaching A-Level law part-time in a sixth form college

I am an examiner for OCR A-Level Law

I am aware of the poor 1 star review - unfortunately a student who wanted me to write his work for him took a disliking when I would not do so. Please refer to all other reviews, and my qualifications! I always give 100% when teaching my students.

Tammy-Jade's last completed Dissertations job with Ildiko: Occasional - - need help with tidying up hypotheses (that's my first goal now)
-need help with figuring out what to use in SPSS (and maybe how)

Hi, I'm a (mature) student, doing my Msc research dissertation in Psychology. Since I haven't done this kind of research in past 7-8 years, I am very rusty. I'll be working with SPSS. like many years before, but I can't remember much. (this year we were taught R, but I can't stand it).

Basically I'd like a session where I can tidy up my hypotheses first. It's mainly an exploratory study. (I started collecting data, ethics gave me the green light, so I need to be careful not to contradict anything that is in the project description. I can nuance it though. I gave it a try-writing up my hypotheses, and supervisor mentioned n passing that looks about alright, but I'm sure it needs more work and I'm a bit stuck. (if you can do only this part and not the spss, it's OK too)

Then I need help to decide what things to use in SPSS: pearson vs Spearman etc for correlations, Anovas, Moanovas etc..... I'm bit confused about them (all year I was doing general linear model in R, so especially out of touch...).

So if you can help me with either, please give me a shout.
I'm available weekday mornings or during weekends (any time).

Many thanks.

Tammy-Jade's last review in Dissertations from Tifah: Dissertation help. Proof reading and guidance Really thankful for helping with my dissertation, reading it and giving notes on how to improve it.

Joe is a published economist and has been invited to talk about his research by universities across Europe. He has provided econometrics consultancy to UK government departments. He aims to highlight links between concepts within a subject to maximise student understanding.

Joe's last completed Dissertations job with Cam Cleary: Intensive - Hi,

I'm currently a final year LSE student studying Politics & Economics. I'm looking for some guidance on the analysis and model used for my dissertation project.

My research into electoral psychology investigates the exxistance of acquiescence bias in referenda. I have put together the research question, collected the fieldwork data, and completed the literature review. I'm now looking to put together the model to analyse my data in the best way to answer the research question, and then conduct this analysis through STATA. I have no experience in this field of regression analysis so anyone that can give me a hand choosing the best way to analyse the data and helping me with SPSS would be of great help!

Joe's last review in Dissertations from Cam Cleary: Very informative class - a real expert in STATA but also able to offer great guidance on interpreting results for specific projects.

Dan $40-50/hr

Finance - Imperial College London

Fundamentally it is my depth of understanding that sets me apart from other tutors. I love statistics and econometrics, and have studied them for my own purposes for over a decade.
I also have a wealth of tuition experience, having been teaching privately full time for the last 5 years, and exclusively online for the last two. I pioneered the use of a graphics tablet in online classes, and worked with the founder of bitpaper on its design.
Finally I pride myself on the connections I form with my students, with many of them having become good friends over the years.

Dan's last completed Dissertations job with Meera: Occasional - I am struggling with data analysis of a project for STATA. I would like some help with certain data manipulations for panel data, including consideration of fixed effects.

The objectives I have are well defined.
