I have ample formal tutoring experience in teaching students in the field of Architecture, manufacture and digital design. I also tutor students in technical skills to use design tools and softwares such as the Adobe creative suite, CAD, CAM, modelling on Rhinoceros and sketchup, and Digital sketching etc.
I have experience mentoring individuals in making very high standard applications, portfolios and personal statements, ensuring their acceptance in renowned universities such as University or Berkeley, University of Maryland etc.
Notable ones include:
Vasudha Maiya - application for Master of Architecture course to University of Berkeley, USA.
Bhavishya Venkitaraman - application for a dual degree in architecture at University of Maryland, USA.
Shilpa Suresh - Statement of purpose for Masters in management at ESSEC, France.
Charlotte Commenducci - application for Interior design to Central Saint Martin, London.
Additionally, I worked with two NGO's for tutoring underprivileged children in basic computer softwares and mentored them in arts.
students age: 9 -16. Location: Bangalore, India
I have taught both Art History and Fine Art for 7 years and I can guide students to develop their art portfolios for university entry, for GCSE and A Level exams as well degree level. Hello :) I specialise in particular to University students, MA and PhD studies. My students feel empowered and like they know what they are doing after our lessons, and I like to help them get on a good start! Its all about giving the right tools- showing the right way to study to students! I really like teaching and feeling like I can help students reach their goals!
I have been a Teaching Assistant at King's College London for two years at the Departments of History and Business. I have assisted Undegraduate students preparing for exams, and corrected their essays while delivering power point lectures on subjects from 1700 to 1989. I am competent to teach any subject/period of history-
My expertise includes International Relations, Sociology, Academic Writing for Qualititative Methods, Philosophy and Politics
I have taught adults and bilinguals for more than 10 years and I am experienced with SEN students, and students who need some inspiration to study.
Undergraduate teaching experience:
My lecture ‘Space-time & Architecture’ was given at the University of Westminster in November 2018. Here I sought to educate students on a number of emerging themes within architecture (specifically in relation to ecological thought and contemporary philosophy) and within the international space industry. Learning outcomes focused particularly on visualisation and communication techniques which could be applied by the students to their own projects more broadly.
I have also been a visiting critic on multiple occasions at the University of Westminster for units DS2 6 & BAIA, on dates: April 2017, Dec. 2018, April 2019. Here I tutored on projects at a range of developmental scales: from early thesis ideation, to final project delivery and presentation.
Postgraduate teaching experience:
I have been a visiting critic at the Royal College of Art for units ADS 5, on dates: Nov. 2014, Aug. 2015, March 2016. Here I tutored architectural design units with a specific ecological focus, dealing with complex environmental, social and economic considerations. As a critic assessing projects at an interim stage of development, I gave strategic direction to students by highlighting strengths and weaknesses in their emerging proposals, while also contributing my own ideas and points of interest where relevant to their thesis.
I have been a professional tutor since 2006.
Across all of the different subjects I teach, I always notice the same thing: the main difficulty that learners encounter is getting overwhelmed by what they're trying to learn. It could be that there seems to be simply too much material to cover; it could be that the concepts seem too difficult; it could be that the whole thing causes anxiety for some completely different reason which is apparently unrelated to the 'academic' side of things.
I help remove anxiety, regardless of what form it might take, in whatever way seems like it will help each individual most. Before long, it becomes possible to see the task in hand with different eyes – indeed, more importantly, at this point most of my students come to see their own abilities entirely differently. They may have come to me with a fixed idea of what they are 'bad' at, but I help them to realise that they have skills they hardly suspected.
I possess experience in teaching 3D modelling for about 6 months. My focus was in Archicad and CINEMA4D but I am good at other software packages like Solibri, Rhinoceros and Solidworks. I am ready to learn other skills in design like hand sketching and etc.
I am currently a practicing structural engineer with a broad range of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked as a part time private tutor / lecturer since 2012 and have completed more than 500 hours of tutoring (around half of this online). My tutoring experience ranges from GCSE and A level Mathematics, through all levels of the Civil and Structural Engineering undergraduate curriculum. I have also tutored in academic writing for engineering students and AutoCAD for interior design and Mechanical Engineering students.
I worked part time as a teaching assistant/guest lecturer in the UCL Civil Engineering department from 2012 to 2017. My role involved the following;
- responsible for setting and marking coursework and exam questions
- supervised six research projects, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
- Lectured on Advanced Structural Analysis, Mathematics for Engineers, Seismic Retrofitting of Historic Masonry Buildings and an introductory structural engineering course.
- Hosted laboratory classes on structural analysis
- Provided training workshops on finite element analysis and structural analysis software.
In 2015 I worked as the engineering tutor in the Cambridge prep experience, part of Oxbridge Academic Programs. I developed and taught the course, aimed at 13-15 year olds, which included site visits, group projects and practical activities.
