About Me
I was born in the UK, though have had stints living in the Balkans when I was young, and in my Dad's native Argentina more recently, which has been an enriching experience. I read a lot, typical of aspiring academics, and try to engage in music and sport when I can - I used to busk on the streets of my hometown during my university vacations!
My engagement with academia and deep thought had always existed, but it exploded during a debating competition that my school hosted when I was 16. Impressed by how interested and surprisingly capable I was, I took my shot at Oxford, and only fell in love with academia more once I was there. I have not looked back, and aspire to be researching and teaching as a university professor in the decades to come. It is my hope that by tutoring I can not only manifest that passion for teaching, but inspire students whose position I was once in to be captivated by the learning that they do, and use that momentum to achieve only their very best.
Tutor Experience
I have been tutoring intensely online for over a year, with 175+ hours of teaching under my belt. Subjects taught include 13+ maths and science, A-Level philosophy and mathematics, and Oxford University admissions, amongst others.
I would characterise my tutoring under three banners: quality, enthusiastic, and caring. Quality, as I have exceptional academic credentials, and received world-class 1-on-1 teaching at arguably the best university in the world, allowing me to share my subject expertise and teaching experience with those I come to teach myself. Enthusiastic, as I care deeply both about the subjects I teach, and about helping students fulfil their ambitions. I myself am planning to embark on a PhD in the years to come, and then pursue a career in academia at one of the top universities in the world, demonstrating a genuine passion for learning and teaching. Caring, as I understand that students must be met at the level they are at, wherever that is, and have teaching tailored so that they can progress to the next level, and most importantly, thoroughly enjoy that process.
