I am an avid sports fan and write for the sports section of a university paper on a variety of professional and university level sports. I like to stay active and regularly play squash in the university college league as well as bouldering, running and gyming on a weekly basis. I am also a member of the university photography society.
I believe my greatest skill as a tutor is really understanding my students and what they are trying to get out of our tutoring sessions, so that I can adapt my teaching in a way that is personalised to any given student.
I have three years experience working for Kumon, a company that offers maths and English programmes that are catered to students of early Infant school years all the way to A level and have tutored privately intermittently for several years. This experience at teaching students at varying stages in the school system has allowed me to develop several tutoring styles so that if a student is finding a given topic particularly difficult to grasp, I will employ several tutoring styles to ensure that the concepts are fully understood.
