About Me

I have been a private tutor since 2014 and hold a degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Cam-bridge University. I specialize in Oxbridge University admission and humanities subjects, which I teach from Key Stage 3 to A-level, alongside University course support. My core subjects include English, Psy-chology, Religious Studies and 11+ English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and 13+ (including Humanities and Sciences). I offer Skype tuition and am happy to travel to students living in London.

Tutor Experience

I'm currently working in education for Cardiff Sixth Form College, writing and editing educational content. I have tutored A level students through their Oxbridge entrances, and also offer proofreading and detailed, constructive feedback on undergraduate humanities dissertations.

“I had a session with Sam in preparation for my university application for philosophy. She suggested a range of topics which she thought would be a helpful introduction to philosophy, a subject which I had not studied before. The discussion gave me a much clearer understanding of the areas in which I had expressed an interest, and of others which I had not encountered, and we explored them at a much deeper level then I would have been able to have done exclusively from the reading. She was willing to answer any questions I had, and the level of the discussion was enough to further my understanding without leaving me lost. The feedback on my personal statement was definitely useful, and the discussion gave me good practise for my Cambridge interview. I went away with reading suggestions both online and in introductory texts, which gave me the depth and breadth of understanding that the interview requires, and I was ultimately successful with my application." - Kathryn Burns, Corpus Christi College Student, Cambridge University
