With over nine years' experience teaching students from a range of backgrounds, I have always maintained positive relationships with students and parents. I am very responsive to student needs and directly target weakness areas, rather than cover ground the student already knows. Differentiation is key to good tutoring and I am good at breaking down complex ideas into bite sized chunks for my students. Alongside tutoring, I am a college lecturer, so I can be sure that my teaching abilities and knowledge are up to date. No matter what your starting ability is, I deliver lessons that are well-planned and directly relevant to the exam board.
I am currently studying an MSc in Law, Business and Management.
Qualified teacher with an Oxford degree offering the following services:
* UCAS personal statement support (all subjects)
* Oxbridge interview preparation for History and Law (including joint schools; e.g. Politics, Economics, Spanish)
* Tuition for LNAT, HAT, CHAA and CLT -- for mainly, but not exclusively, Oxbridge candidates
* Postgraduate application personal statement support (Humanities and Social Sciences)
* A-Level/IB/BTEC/Access/Undergraduate tuition for History and Law
* Coursework checking (NOT writing!)
Alongside tutoring online, I am a lecturer at a further education college in a disadvantaged area where I coordinate a successful Oxbridge/Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary Science applications programme. Approximately 90% of my students are interviewed. Between 10% and 30% gain places. This is far in excess of the local demographic standard and I am now transferring my skills to the online tutor sector. I am also a personal tutor and have supported hundreds of students in their applications to all manner of universities and courses.
I have had the pleasure of meeting a range of students from all over the world: from Oxbridge hopefuls to undergraduates suffering from low-esteem...from students with severe SEN needs to military veterans returning to education...from students with behavioural issues to sixth formers in need of a further push...from students retaking A-Levels to GCSE students in need of preparation for college.
My main experience is with History and Law, but I have taught many other subjects. I have experience teaching and/or examining the following exam boards: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, BTEC, Access to Higher Education, University. I contribute to the A-Level Law Review.
