I enjoy travel, learning about new cultures and trying new cuisines. I really enjoy cooking, meeting new people and having a good laugh :)
I love helping my students work towards their goals. Whether they are improving their language skills for work and getting new jobs, planning or currently undertaking academic study, or learning a language to gain more familiarity with a different culture, I have helped my students to succeed through improving their language skills in Arabic.
I've studied 4 languages (English, Arabic, French and German), and am very familiar with the different challenges adults and children face with learning languages.
I recently become a GCSE Arabic examiner, and am currently translating a book from Arabic to English on the subject of social and economic development in Saudi Arabia.
I can help you with the following:
- Modern Standard Arabic
- Levantine Dialect
- Preparation for A-Level and GCSE exams
- Grammar and Vocabulary
- Learning the Arabic alphabet
- Everyday conversations
Mary has been a patient teacher and knowledgeable guide, who has enabled to me to grasp the basics of reading and writing Arabic script. Further her personality and approach to the tutoring has resulted in numerous erudite discussions related to the Arabic language, helping me develop my Arabic vocabulary. Her commitment to my learning objectives is elucidated by the random tests or quizzes on my understanding and retention of Arabic lexis. After nearly 3 months of weekly classes, I have come to realise that I am learning Arabic from a dedicated teacher who is considerate of my volatile work schedule and someone who focuses on creating an optimal learning environment, rather than just rushing through a set of lessons in a transaction like manner.
