I am quite an outdoorsy type - put me on a mountainside and I'm a very happy chap. I spent last couple of summers kayaking in Sweden and various Scandinavian countries which is a great way to revise Geography in real life.
Films are my other passion whether it be Lawrence of Arabia, Howls Moving Castle or a Denzel Washington action fest. My favourite director is Wes Anderson
I am an Oxbridge educated tutor who has spent the last year working as a Teaching Assistant in London. In this role I focussed on tutoring children with Special Educational Needs and Language Delay as well as running Geography booster classes.
During the past 7 months I have gained over 900 hours teaching experience, working primarily in small groups and 1 to 1.
Before moving into teaching I worked for 7 years as a news and sports producer for BBC, ITV and BT Sport. This was a fantastic experience and provided me real life examples to help inform my teaching of media and Geography.
I am set to start my full teacher training as a PGCE student at Oxford University in September 2016. The course was awarded an 'Outstanding' award by Ofsted.
I like to focus on a student based approach - finding out how the student learns best and what they struggle with most so I can then adapt the learning process to them. This focus means that an individual approach can be tailored to each specific tutee.
