About Me

I am passionate about the English and Spanish languages and the benefits of studying literature. I am a PhD qualified, published author and I thrive on encouraging others to enjoy their learning. My other interests include cooking, my allotment and travel. I live in a rural English town which is home to an international poetry festival. I've lived in London and Spain. My favourite authors are Margaret Atwood and Edward Thomas. I have a slightly overweight pet cat called Thomas.

Tutor Experience

I have been teaching in classrooms and one-to-one settings since 2010. I particularly enjoy the chance to work creatively with individually with students to help them reach their full potential. Most recently, I have been working with university English literature students with their studies in environmental literature, 19th and early 20th century literature and poetry and with their dissertation projects. I have previously helped A-level, GCSE, IGCSE and university students and adult learners to flourish in their academic studies.

Topic Expertise

I have taught English literature from GCSE to masters degree level, and creative writing from GCSE to degree level. I have worked with GCSE, IGCSE and A-level English language students, including those for whom English is a second language.
