I am a highly experienced and successful University Lecturer, having taught, mentored and convened on a variety of Undergraduate courses in both Law and Politics. I always receive excellent feedback from all my students, who praise my ability to explain things incredibly well and to use good examples and illustrations to convey complex or challenging information. I am particularly good at getting on with people from all walks of life and am easy-going, very friendly and highly approachable. One of my strong points is being able to put myself in the position of my tutees and to be able to see the world and new information as they see it, helping me to shape it into a form they will understand. I am also patient and kind, with the ability to relate to the tutee personally.
I have led and developed new modules at the University of Exeter, including on Public & EU Law, Law of the Sea and Environmental Law. I have also been a highly successful Lecturer and Tutor in modules including Equity & Trusts, Company Law, Politics in Europe and Alternative Dispute Resolution. I am also proficient and extremely knowledgeable in all the core legal subjects, as well as many sub-fields in Politics, Governance and Business Management. In addition to this, I have been responsible for running essay mentoring workshops and support systems, as well as a highly effective dissertation supervisor and personal tutor. My feedback from students has always been full of praise and thanks, which has helped me advance very quickly in this career. I am also widely respected for the quality of my feedback and the amount of care and attention I show in my students, where I like to ensure they receive all the support and mentorship they could ever need.
I have a strong knowledge of all areas of legal academic study and practice, particularly including equity & trusts, constitutional law, international law and company law. However, I can provide first-class tutoring in all core legal subjects, as well as most practice-oriented subjects.
I am also particularly experienced and highly regarded for my academic mentoring, essay coaching and dissertation supervision.
