About Me

With over ten years of teaching experience, teaching English is a huge part of my life. I have taught English to a range of ages and key stages from key stage 3 through to key stage 5 (year 7-year13). I enjoy teaching language with a focus on literacy and grammar in particular and can help improve writing ability which is a key skill needed to secure above a 4 at GCSE. I am confident to work with a variety of GCSE specifications within the subject of English.

Tutor Experience

I have previous (in- person) experience with tutoring, personalised lessons and resources are always tailored to meet individual student needs. I have had success with borderline 4/5 GCSE students as well as grade 7/8 GCSE English Language students.

I can also assist with UCAS applications including personal statements as well as CV improvements.

I will approach all lessons with patience and attention to detail and after our initial lesson, will provide a personalised learning plan suited to your needs. I am happy to create resources and to mark and assess essays/exam responses.

I have experience with teaching SEND students as well as having had previous success within private tutoring.
My most recent experience is with the teaching of the EDUQAS GCSE English Literature and English Language qualification but I am able to tailor teaching to assist with other exam boards.
