Online Maths Tutor Daniel

I have been tutoring and helping students prepare for Oxford and Cambridge since 2017.
I have tutored students from ages 11-20 with a focus on students sitting their GCSEs or A levels.
One of my earliest students I tutored Vishal, entriely online for his entey to Cambridge University, despite him coming from an underprivileged background. After much preparation considering the entrance exams and interview preparation.
For example I tutored Lavanya through her A level further maths in its entirety as her school didn't offer the course. I also tutored her through the TMUA and how to focus on the questions that she can answer most quickly so that she can use her time most effectively. This was conducted entirely online for the full year.

My typical approach is to focus mainly on the deeper concepts so that students feel they have an appreciation of the concepts and can tackle a wider array of problems. For example when we look at Pythagorus' theorem I look at how we can derive it, similarly when looking at trigeometry we show how those constants are derived for the right angled trigenometry basics. Where there is scope links to other topics are shown to help improve the overall understanding.

Once we have covered the basic concepts we typically then move onto the typical questions so that we can see how to apply it in the typical contexts. This is a flexible approach and depends on how far away the exams are. Eg as the exam season approaches a greater emphasis is focused on the questions and how to use the information, as opposed to wider understanding and links between areas depending on what the student's needs are.

My strongest topic is Mathematics, and having focused my studies on applied mathematics I can help students with topics in physics to A level. All exam boards can be covered, as well as most maths/physics based entrance exams
