About Me

I grew up in Dorset and spent 8 years touring the UK and Europe in an English Language theatre company before settling down to have a family. My love of working with learners of English and inspiring people to be creative led me to train as a teacher after the birth of my second daughter. Recently I have been working at a bilingual school in Spain where I have worked on the UK curriculum with ESOL students. I am returning to the UK where I am looking to specialise in one-to-one tuition.

I specialise in teaching GCSE, iGCSE, A Level and Cambridge Second Language qualifications. I will work with you to provide the support you need to help you be successful in your chosen qualification. I have experience of working with those aiming for the top grades as well as those who require a little more support to achieve. I am familiar with a number of different exam boards.

Tutor Experience

I have been teaching English for about 12 years in a classroom setting and always look to make my lessons engaging and interactive. My approach to teaching is student-centred and adaptable to the needs of the individual. I have taught a number of different texts at GCSE and iGCSE Literature including a number of Shakespeare texts and poetry. My experience as an examiner has given me insight into exam board requirements which I can use to tailor lessons. I have experience with working with SEN students and have been described as a patient and considerate teacher.
