I am a Chartered Engineer with a background in electronics design. I now specialise in engineering education, with a bias towards electrical/electronic engineering and maths.
I am a Chartered Engineer and a fully qualified teacher (QTLS) & university lecturer (FHEA) with over nine years’ experience teaching engineering and mathematics at Levels 2, 3 and university level. Before entering the teaching profession I worked for many years as an electronics design engineer.
My main subjects are electrical/electronic engineering and mathematics. I am very experienced in teaching the BTEC and HNC/D syllabus, as well as university programmes, particularly the final year project.
I use an interactive approach to online tutoring, breaking things down into smaller steps where necessary. By regularly checking on the student's understanding I am able to gauge progress. This means I can go back one or more steps if necessary until the student is 'on solid ground' then proceed from there.
My main subjects are engineering principles, analogue electronics, digital electronics, microcontrollers, radio communication and mathematics. I am very experienced in teaching the BTEC and HNC/D syllabus, as well as university programmes, particularly the final year project. I can teach maths from the basics of algebra, graphs and trigonometry up to more advanced topics such as calculus and complex numbers.
Good Teacher, I think he will be able to assess my needs further and work to increase his teaching speeds once I have covered all the bases. Very Friendly and a pleasure to be taught by Laurence for the first session.
Excellent tutor. Very friendly atmosphere. I had learned a lot. Thank you Laurence.
Nathanael found the session very helpful. Thank you.
We went through a few tutors before we found Laurence. He went above and beyond to assist us and made the subject easy to understand. Highly recommended.
Very professional and a great teacher.
amazing tutor
Another excellent tutorial
Good lesson, clarifying the processes and rules with 1st order diff equations. Also going through at the substitution method.
Went well as usual. Thanks again, Laurence.
Thanks so much as usual for all your help. I feel you under charged and I know you finished early; however you helped and provided additional support last week without extra charges. Thank you so much
Some student feedback collected by my previous employer:
“Best teacher - puts in the effort”
“Supportive - he supports with assignments”
“He has supported and helped us over the whole course - couldn’t ask for better”.
