My tutoring is structured, exam-focused, and adapted to each student. I usually begin by identifying the student’s main weaknesses: conceptual understanding, problem-solving, exam timing, data analysis, or confidence. From there, I build a personalised plan using targeted explanations, past-paper practice, and practical strategies for approaching unfamiliar questions.
I also provide the student with tips and tricks and revision/summary sheets.

I place strong emphasis on both understanding and exam performance. Some students need help memorising key content more efficiently; others need to develop deductive reasoning and apply concepts under time pressure. I adapt my approach depending on the student’s strengths, learning style, and target grade.

For IA and EE support, I draw on my experience as a scientist to help students understand experimental design, data processing, uncertainty, interpretation, and scientific writing. My goal is to guide students in developing and improving their own work ethically, while helping them reach a higher standard of scientific thinking and communication.

When useful, I provide students and parents with a short summary after each lesson, including what we covered, recurring weaknesses, and suggested next steps. This allows progress to be tracked clearly over time and helps each lesson build logically on the previous one.

My aim is to help students feel more confident, more independent, and better prepared for IB Chemistry assessments.
