About Me
My name is Tomasz Pernak, and I have been a resident of the UK for 18 years now. I arrived in the UK being 36, and the maths calculation says I am 54 now. Throughout the time of my presence in the UK, I have been involved in numerous professional tasks and local community initiatives. For 8 years, until the pandemic, I had been serving the Ministry of Justice, the Police forces and NHS as an interpreter (sworn in a court setting). I am a teacher providing private English lessons for students online, I am also a teacher at Polish Sunday School, delivering preparation courses for GCSE and A levels Polish as a foreign language exams, under the umbrella of The Polish Educational Society and AQA. I am the author of several published books and hundreds of articles for the Polish press.
Tutor Experience
I have been teaching the Polish language as a foreign language, preparing students for taking GCSE (as one in a team of two) and A levels (my own programme fulfilling AQA requirements) exams. Successfully, as most of our students receive A or A* marks.
I teach at Polish Saturday School (interestingly enough my courses are on Thursdays) in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
I have completed 8 years of professional interpreting (consecutive and simultaneous) for a number of governmental bodies and institutions (see: 'About me' entry). I also teach the English language online to beginners and intermediates. I have 6 years of experience in that field.
