Teaching is my passion, and I am fortunate to have helped hundreds of clients earn the scores they need to enter their preferred academic and professional programmes. My specialty lies in helping students understand the 'whys' and 'hows' and not just the 'whats' of a subject - breaking complex ideas down to their component pieces and modelling the critical thinking that students need to master to excel, in both quantitative and verbal areas.
I love forming a strong professional connection with my clients, seeing my role as more than just a tutor but a coach. I take my clients' needs seriously and go above and beyond to make sure that they get the training and preparation to excel. Their successes are my greatest reward.
Beyond education, I also volunteer with the Free Representation Unit here in London, advocating for my clients at the first-tier tribunal, and enjoy reading, gaming and playing the guitar (albeit poorly!)
Since 2011, when I moved to London and after completing my doctoral dissertation, I have worked as a tutor and educational consultant, first with Kaplan Test Prep and for the last nine years as a self-employed tutor, working with a variety of companies. During this time, I have trained students on standardised exams including the GRE, GMAT, SAT, LSAT and UKCAT, among others. The majority of my clients - consistently score in the top 10% of test-takers worldwide. My clients come from all over the world, from London to Singapore, and from every socio-economic background - whether they grew up taking standardised exams or have never seen one before, my clients learn how to master not just the subject matter but the strategic art of these exams.
My approach is based on the recognition that standardised exams are fundamentally a game: they have their rules, their strategies, their assumptions and their weaknesses - and excelling at them often means learning new ways of thinking that conflict with the methods students have been trained to use during their secondary and tertiary educations! I rebuild students' understanding of the basics so that they can find simpler, easier and above all quicker ways of answering questions: as I always say, you have all the time you need to do the work you need to do - you just don't have time to do more work than that!
I specialise in standardised exams as a discipline - the insights necessary to master the SAT are not fundamentally different to those necessary to excel on the GRE, GMAT or LSAT.
My particular strengths lie in
1) Number Properties, Algebra and Geometry
2) Critical Reasoning and Logical Argumentation
3) English Grammar
4) Reading Comprehension
Beyond this, I also have received academic training in statistical analysis, political science and law. I am also a non-practising barrister in England and Wales, having been called to the Bar in 2021.
Best tutor I could have asked for
Amaury Besse de Laromiguiere - 690
Patrick is a wonderful teacher who will bring out your potential and raise your GMAT level significantly. He will also share amazing tools and advice which you can apply not just to the GMAT exam, but to your academic, work or personal life. I started off scoring 400-500 in the practice exams, but thanks to Patrick, I scored a 690 in the GMAT, with full marks in the analytical writing, and integrated reasoning, which only a small percentage of people manage to achieve. Life changing!

Patrick was great! I got introduced to him through a friend and I am thanking her since then! in my first practice GMAT I got 510 and in the exam after few months with Patrick I got 710!
It was an amazing journey and I could not have done it without Patrick’s help and support!
After that I applied to few MBAs programmes with Patrick's help. After getting accepted to 3 out of 4 including one with Scholarship I just stopped applying and chose Insead.
A lot of it is thanks to Patrick!
He is nice, smart , funny and put you in ease which is so important. It has been a hard time studying for the GMAT and applying to the schools and Patrick made it possible and I thank him for that :-)
Highly recommended!
Elise Gualtier - 700
Patrick teaches the GMAT in a seamless way, making everything simple to understand. He told me the correct way to study the GMAT, as there really is a technique to ace this test. Things that I found difficult beforehand became easy and logical. Patrick doesn't just tell you how to get the answer, he explains each step and gives you confidence.
Patrick is always available for questions and extremely patient and nice!
It was truly thanks to Patrick that I exceeded my score expectations and I strongly recommend him if you want to achieve a great score at this test!
Chenting (Charlotte) Zuo - 740
Before I started working with Patrick, I naively thought that I could achieve a 700+ alone with the help of commonly-cited textbooks such as the Manhattan GMAT guides. Little did I know that one significant problem I had with the GMAT was anxiety. I have always done well in exams, but GMAT got the best of me and on test day, I ran out of time in both sections, resulting in a result that was 40 points lower than my practice tests. Determined to give the GMAT another go and conquer it, I reached out to a handful of tutors before settling with Patrick.
The main reason I chose Patrick was his experience. Yes, his 790 result is extraordinary, but because of his experience in helping - literally - hundreds of students, he was also talented in pinpointing and resolving my weaknesses in exam strategy (timing & nerves) as well as subject areas (number properties). Without this insight, I doubt I would've achieved my 740 score.
