About Me
Annabelle is a highly skilled tutor who holds a PGCE and is a qualified teacher. She is passionate about helping students achieve their potential and beyond and has a proven record improving student outcomes. She is a history teacher in London and a University of Bristol graduate, achieving high academic results throughout her own education and having a number of published works.
She has also worked in schools in Uganda, helping improve the teacher training provision there. Alongside this, she has been working with the University of Reading to deliver lectures for their current teachers in training. She has worked on a campaign for the Department for Education and delivered multiple teacher trainings. Teaching resources she has made have been shared nationally and at historical conferences.
Outside of work, Annabelle enjoys keeping fit and travelling. She is also an avid reader of historical fiction and non-fiction and has worked as a consultant on a number of historical projects, including for the British Library.
Tutor Experience
Annabelle has been working as a qualified teacher for several years and has experience of improving student attainment and tutoring one-on-one. As an official examiner, she also has received training from AQA and Edexcel and knows exactly how to help students achieve success in their exams.
She has strong communication and inter-personal skills and is experienced at working with students with additional needs and from disadvantaged backgrounds. She also has effectively worked with students whose first language is not English. She believes that all students, regardless of background and ability, deserve access to quality education and ensures that her student’s needs are tailored to. As part of this, she creates personalized resources for her students based on their ability and academic goals. She also understands the value in a collaborative relationship with parents and carers, and is committed to ongoing communication of each student’s progress and needs.
Annabelle is familiar with the AQA and Edexcel history courses, at both GCSE and A Level, and has examined exam papers for these courses. She has perfected efficient and effective methods for revision and exam technique. She has also worked with students at KS3 to improve their outcomes and academic progress over time. She has successfully helped students get into Oxbridge and with their UCAS applications. She also mentored students at the University of Bristol. Her experience as both a teacher and a tutor means she is in a unique position to ensure that students’ work aligns closely with what is expected of them and their targets are not only achievable, but able to be exceeded.
