I've spent the last 13 years helping students discover that Physics and Mathematics aren't as scary as they first appear—in fact, they can be genuinely fascinating once the right connections are made.
My own journey with Physics began at University College Dublin, where I fell in love with Theoretical Physics and graduated with First Class Honours. That passion led me through a PhD in Machine Learning at Dublin City University, where I spent years applying computational methods to understand various aspects of the natural environment and their effects on the evolution of climatic systems. Along the way, I've been lucky enough to conduct research in Brazil, publish in international journals, and even teach as an Assistant Professor—but my real love has always been one-on-one teaching, where I can actually see those "Aha!" moments for students, where the key pieces of understanding fall into place.
I'm fluent in French, Spanish, and Portuguese (and learning Irish!), which came from a combination of formal study and actually living the languages through my travels. This multilingual background means I'm comfortable working with international students and can sometimes offer alternative explanations that resonate better with students from different educational systems.
What sets my approach apart is that I genuinely believe every student can excel in STEM subjects—it's just about finding the right angle of explanation. I don't believe in rote memorization; I believe in understanding the "why" behind formulas and concepts. When a student understands why something works, they can apply it to any problem, not just the ones they've memorized.
