As a passionate, experienced and trained geography educator, I bring landscapes to life, transforming theory into real-world understanding. Through my enthusiasm and dedication, students are inspired to become geographical thinkers as they don’t just learn about the world—they experience it, one lesson at a time! I encourage thinking, discourse and exploration while helping students acquire the knowledge and understanding needed to be highly successful in their respective examinations.

I have been an educator for over 30 years, having taught primary, secondary and tertiary level students over the span of my career. I hold a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University, Pennsylvania, USA where my research was focused on geography education and how best to help students develop geographical thinking and skills. I also hold a M.Sc. with Distinction in Urban Planning and Development from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine (Trinidad), a B.A. with Honours in Geography from The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus (Jamaica) and a Teacher’s Diploma. I am also a TEFL trained tutor.
From a geographical perspective, aside from my interest in how students learn and understand geography, I would consider myself a human geographer with an interest in migration studies, urbanization, community development, environmental management, disaster preparedness and issues affecting Small Island Developing States.
As an educator, I am a firm believer in student-centered learning and the use of technology as an effective tool to enhance the teaching-learning process. My desire has always been to make a positive impact, not just on my students' academic achievements, but on their holistic development and to instill a lifelong love for learning.

Approach and Pedagogy to Teaching Geography:
My pedagogical approach is grounded in student-centered learning, where learners take an active role in their education, exploring geography through inquiry, discovery, and meaningful real-world connections. My classes foster active engagement by integrating experiential learning, collaborative discussions, technology, and hands-on activities that bring geographic concepts to life. My approach to assessment ensures mastery of concepts, through the use of diverse evaluation methods to assess learning, track progress, provide meaningful feedback, and refine instruction. Through these practices, I have been able to cultivate deep learning, empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking necessary to understand and navigate the complexities of our geographical world.
I am well versed and more than capable of teaching all geography related content/concepts at the secondary school level up to the Ordinary (O') Level examinations, including GCSE, IGCSE and CSEC.
Specific topics I can cover would include, but definitely not be limited to:
