I am based in Cambridge, U.K.
For almost five years, I have worked as a private tutor across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and London. Across this time, I have focused predominantly on providing one-to-one tuition for English literature and language. This passion is rooted in my academic background: I hold a B.A. and MPhil in English from Cambridge University, and I intend to start work on a part-time PhD from 2027 onwards, in tandem with teaching. Aside from English, I also work frequently with students across a variety of other subjects, especially the sciences, mathematics, and verbal / non-verbal reasoning.
Over the years, I have taught more than one-hundred students between the ages of eight and eighteen, across a wide variety of curricula and exam boards (11+, 13+, GCSE, A-Level, IB, University Admissions), forging strong bonds with students and their families, typically over the course of a year or more. I tailor all lessons to the individual student, developing a strong plan from the first lesson and then revising it continually from week to week. Then, after every lesson, I provide parents with an in-depth yet precise report, ensuring consistent communication and feedback.
These methods, which I follow from year to year, consistently benefit my students. To provide some recent examples, I helped a long-term student to secure a scholarship from Dulwich College, and I have consistently seen improvements of two grades or more in my students at GCSE and A-Level. In my view, truly effective tuition does not only prescribe information, but also guides a student towards a more independent form of learning and thought; a skill which will not only benefit them in the classroom, but also in their wider lives. I hope to continue sharing my genuine passion for teaching as I pursue a PhD in years to come.
I frequently provide tuition for the following subjects:
English (11+, 13+ GCSE, A-Level, Undergraduate)
Maths (11+, 13+, GCSE, A-Level)
Economics (GCSE, A-Level)
Chemistry (GCSE)
Physics (GCSE)
