About Me
I am an experienced Geography teacher, having taught in a range of schools for over ten years, as well as a Geography GCSE examiner. I have been a Deputy Head Teacher and have achieved Chartered Teacher status from the Chartered College of Teaching.
Having studied a BA in Geography, I went on to train as a secondary teacher during which time I also completed a Masters degree in Education followed by a Doctorate in Education. I am passionate about lifelong learning and ensure that my lessons are founded on the best available evidence of best practice in education.
My lessons contain high quality content, regular formative and summative assessment to check for understanding and misconceptions, and provide opportunity for engaging in discussion and depth of subject knowledge.
Tutor Experience
I have 14 years teaching experience in a girls' grammar school, mixed comprehensive school, and independent school specialising in Geography at key stages three and four. I am an experienced GCSE Geography examiner, particularly for human geography.
I have privately tutored for AS and A-level Geography.
Having achieved a Masters degree and a Doctorate in Education, as well as Qualified Teacher Status and Chartered Teacher status, I am able to tutor those studying education, particularly secondary education, in areas such as classroom management, assessment, and curriculum design.
