About Me
I am a qualified Economics teacher with a BA in Economics from Durham University and a PGCE with QTS from the University of Worcester. I currently teach Economics full-time at a leading international school, having previously taught at a highly regarded independent school in the UK.
My approach is rigorous, structured, and tailored to each student. I focus on building genuine subject mastery alongside the analytical and exam techniques required to achieve the highest grades, while maintaining a calm, supportive environment in which students feel confident to question, discuss, and grow.
Tutor Experience
I am an IB examiner with several years of experience delivering the full IB Diploma Economics curriculum (SL and HL), giving me an insider's understanding of assessment objectives, command terms, mark schemes, and what genuinely distinguishes a top-band response. Alongside my IB expertise, I have extensive experience teaching A-level Economics across AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge specifications.
I have been tutoring online since 2017, delivering over 2,000 one-to-one lessons to students from a wide range of academic and international backgrounds. My broader experience also includes supervising extended essays and EPQs, mentoring university applicants, and preparing students for Oxbridge interviews.
Every student I work with receives a structured, individually tailored programme. Following an initial discussion to identify your goals, current level, and target grade, I plan ahead and divide the workload into clear, manageable stages, with each lesson built around specific objectives and outcomes. I have a complete bank of lesson plans, topic notes, and past paper questions covering the full A-level course and the entire IB syllabus, so sessions can follow a full schedule or focus on specific topics, revision, and exam preparation.
Sessions are interactive and collaborative, with an emphasis on active note-taking, discussion, and applied practice. Beyond core subject teaching, I also support students with personal statements, university applications, Oxbridge interview preparation, and feedback on essays and other written work.
