About Me
I work as Head of Department for Computer Science and IT at a large non-selective academy in the south of England. I have an MSc in Computing and Information Technology and consistently guide my classes to achieve high grades in their Computing GCSEs and A-Levels. I am also employed annually by one of the main examination boards to work as an A-Level and GCSE examiner in the subject. I have also moderated coursework assessment for the exam board on multiple occasions. I set very high expectations for my students - my approach to tutoring is extensively exam-focused, pushing students to engage with the wording of model answers in exam board mark schemes, understanding what the board is actually asking for and engaging with the idea of 'playinf the exam game' to harvest as many marks as possible.
Tutor Experience
I am a full-time Computer Science teacher and guide my daytime students to impressive grades in Computer Science and IT. I set my students' goals high, and those that pick up the baton and engage with the learning process always impress.
I'm very adept at helping students cut through confusion, focus on precise language and find the focus in theory topics to deliver mark-scheme friendly answers in examinations.
